If you do not get on with your father, try and rebuild that bridge. We all have family members we don't get on with, sometimes people are lousy, but most fathers deserve you working through the tought times.

@Theantiman96 Your dad will be proud of anything that you do. All we an hope for is enough time but that is the one thing in life that we can't predict. Before i felt exactly how you feel like i hadn't made my dad proud but it turns out that just being there and loving was enough for my dad and i will miss him for as long as i live. I didn't know how proud my dad was of me and how much he loved me until he was on his death bed but he would have done anything for my family and anyone else.

@Theantiman96 i am 15 and i lost my dad. i didn't spend much time with him and i always had feeling he is bothering me, and i always thought there is time to be with him, but than he died when i was 13, and i still regret it that i never told him how much i love him, and i realize it now when i remember hanging out with him and spending time, how much he loved me and cared about me, and how his advices were very useful, and how i didn't understand them back than but i do now...

My dad died 3 years ago this week, but I truly lost him more then 11 years ago when he turned to drink and left my mother and me. I never really forgave him for leaving, and as a result I only saw him 4 or 5 times in those 8 years. This is something I'll regret until the day I die, because no matter what people do in life, once they are gone you will never get the time back with them. All I can say is if you have the chance, don't do what I did. He died alone and I should have been there.

My dad and I haven't ever gotten along. If anything, the things my father said drove me farther away from him. I envy everyone who is able to sit in the same room with their's and be able to laugh, talk, and not lash out at each other; I often think of myself as living without one, and honestly I feel better like that. 22 years of abuse of all sorts is a terrible thing.
My father died 24 years ago. I never got to say goodbye to him; I got home from school just a few minutes too late. This song captured that feeling too well.

I did have to learn to take his role at an early age, for my younger brother. I've also promised to be a better father than him. I can honestly say I've succeeded

@Theantiman96 Your dad will be proud of anything that you do. All we an hope for is enough time but that is the one thing in life that we can't predict. Before i felt exactly how you feel like i hadn't made my dad proud but it turns out that just being there and loving was enough for my dad and i will miss him for as long as i live. I didn't know how proud my dad was of me and how much he loved me until he was on his death bed but he would have done anything for my family and anyone else.

@Theantiman96 i am 15 and i lost my dad. i didn't spend much time with him and i always had feeling he is bothering me, and i always thought there is time to be with him, but than he died when i was 13, and i still regret it that i never told him how much i love him, and i realize it now when i remember hanging out with him and spending time, how much he loved me and cared about me, and how his advices were very useful, and how i didn't understand them back than but i do now...

@Theantiman96 but i am very glad that i turned out to be just as he wanted me to be, not to be a bad person and he thought me how to be a good man that everyone loves, and it pays off now.. i never had a chance to prove myself to him, and that is why i wanna live by the advices he gave me, to make him proud of me !.. trust me he will be proud of you whatever you do, just don't waste time and ignore him, talk with him as much as you can because you will regret it later if you don't.

My dad died 3 years ago this week, but I truly lost him more then 11 years ago when he turned to drink and left my mother and me. I never really forgave him for leaving, and as a result I only saw him 4 or 5 times in those 8 years. This is something I'll regret until the day I die, because no matter what people do in life, once they are gone you will never get the time back with them. All I can say is if you have the chance, don't do what I did. He died alone and I should have been there.

i have never known my dad but if my ma died i don't think there would be any reason for me to live anymore she is everything to me and its just, it really upsets me how she now has a boyfriend who is stealing her away from me, it causes arguments all of the time and i hate arguing because it just it makes me scared realizing that that argument could be last thing that i might say to her :(

I haven't lost my father as of yet, but I lost my uncle, he was the greatest man alive, beside my father of course. Each and everyday for a long time now I try to remember him and think about him, even just for a moment. Every Moment counts so don't ever take them for granted. This song makes me want to cry every time I hear it though. Thumbs Up if you feel a sad nostalgia wash over with this song.

on october 25th 2011 marked 3 years for my fsther who passed away of a stroke and i miss him everyday. today i cried alot and i tried to be strong but i can't be strong without him here. my husband and my children have been making suer thay i keep busy and show support. i miss you dad....

It's a shame i have no love for my father, he hasnt bothered with me since the day i was born over 30yrs ago. This song makes me think of how things should have been.
When i have children i will make them so proud of me and will always be there for them like my father never was and when they are old enough to understand i will play them this song.

My dad and I haven't ever gotten along. If anything, the things my father said drove me farther away from him. I envy everyone who is able to sit in the same room with their's and be able to laugh, talk, and not lash out at each other; I often think of myself as living without one, and honestly I feel better like that. 22 years of abuse of all sorts is a terrible thing.

For all of you who lost your father even somewhat recently, be glad you knew him at all, had a chance to talk to him and had the chance to love him. Mine left when I was nine, and I never heard from him since. He was an alcoholic, a pot head, a chain smoker and a womanizer. But when he was sober, he was sober, he was my father. I did have to learn to take his role at an early age, for my younger brother. I've also promised to be a better father than him. I can honestly say I've succeeded
