  • i couldive sworn he said bit***s 1:15

  • Great thanks ( I was previously aware of the great Mr Rafferty, saved his stuff on viddler, but still came here - so for what difference it makes, I think you're great too.)

  • TYVM for the lesson. I really enjoyed it and has help me. Keep posting those lessond pls and ty :)

  • i dont see the big deal even IF he is copying rafferty (which he is probably not). as long as he gives credit to mj its all goood

  • great lesson but DUDE too much talking from begining ://////////

  • I am a huge fan of your iTunes recordings, and use them for practice, and use them when teaching my guitar students, to convince those who insist on learning on their electric guitar that acoustic can be just as cool. :-) Thank you!!

  • good tab

  • Great lesson. But why don't you use open strings for base line instead of 5th fret (or 7th with capo)?

  • if this is your tabs then i can say that you are very good and thnxs

  • Thx man

  • what if everytime im playing the base notes i move my fingers and then u hear squeaking noises because of base string changes??

  • What kind of taylor guitar are u using????

  • This lesson is amazing. Thanks a lot! And you have a great voice.

  • Who the hell is Adam Rafferty?

I understand a lot of people try to take credit for other people's work but this guy is obviously going out of his way to be helpful and I see a lot of people calling him a thief, which is a dick move.

If you play the guitar you know that good guitarists generally find the simplest, easiest way to play a song, if it's right, inevitably more people will end up finding the shortest path to the same goal.

Please be nice to people who post these videos.

  • Hey man I know ur probably a busy guy and stuff but do u think u can make a tablature of this song for me??? I mean I like the tutorial and all but if u can do u think u can make a tab?? if not thn it's ok..

  • You sound just like Jim from "The Office"...

  • yeah !!continue in good way of teaching., your sharing to us your knowledge in playing,.your not selfish.,BUT BE HONEST .,

  • Nice tutorial, thank you, now I've got to practice a lot...

  • Just download Guitar Pro 5(there is 6,but i like 5 more),download tabs for it,there will be many versions of Billie Jean,no matter which you pick, you will learn to play it.Its pretty easy with some practice....:D Anyway, good video man.....:D You are god on guitar,really..

  • thank :D

it's the only tutorial that I could easily understand on youtube ><

(one of the reason is I 'm not an english speaker xD)

thanks for your carefulness ,patience and generosity !!^^

  • Great lesson thanks. It's taken me a couple of weeks to get it down. Adding the vocals will be a bit harder. The King of Pop LIVES!

  • Hello!

Can you please give the site or to throw me on the e-mail notes or tabs of this arrangement!

    I would really appreciate

  • great vid! i can finaly play the song now

  • yes i agree, whats the big deal,chill out,respect

  • captain cape-oh!

  • yow i really luv this video thnks for the lesson grat job

  • Thank's a lot)

  • Seriously guys, anybody who knows anything about arranging music will know that this is the most obvious way to play the bass and chords while being faithful to the song. It does not mean he ripped off Adam just because he played it first.

  • serisuly... thank god someone did a tutorial! rafferty doesnt show shit, n wen u wana buy the tabs u cant! fkn bullshit so thanx man ;)

  • thanks so much man. great teaching and great song.

  • Instead of 7th fret on 5th and 6th string, why don't you play 2nd fret on 4th and 5th string? Seems easier to me...

  • great job :) I love how u played the song... its refreshing to see someone who knows how to play so beautifully take the time to help others.

  • adam rafferty and michael jackson should thank you for showing them how to play this song.

  • Hi Kris =D Thank you for that lesson , i Like it ;)

May i have the tab ? send at k.saad_00@hotmail.fr

  • @scottmason86 Once again, I can't "copy" something I am unaware of. I have seen Adam's arrangement of the song after the fact, now that people have mentioned it to me, and yes they are very similar (though his of course incorporates the melody as well). I suppose we simply both found the most efficient, obvious way to play the song.

  • @scottmason86 what's the big deal man, he's giving a tutorial of a beautiful piece. respect.

  • @scottmason86 You are incredibly bitter.

  • @scottmason86 It sounds like Adam Rafferty's arrangement because this is the bass line and keyboard chords from Billie Jean. Simple as that. What else would he play?

  • De los mejores tutoriales que he visto.

  • is it possible to use a pick

  • thank a lot !!! Good teaching!

  • dude u have a very similar voice to the dude on the sunscreen song, gid vid

  • greaaat so very nice , thanks so much man ....

  • Thanks for your help :-) !

    Cheers from France...

    Nathalie

  • Awesome video, thanks a lot!

  • Finaly get it,a 1000 times thank you for the details in your lesson.

  • Love ya so much dude!

  • @tehdog22 I don't know who Adam Rafferty is. This is my own arrangement, thank you :-)

  • @kfarrow77 WTF is Adam Rafferty?

Anyone who's played guitar before understands that most musicians seek out the simplest way to play each song and I'm sure if Adam is a decent player he'll have come up with a similar arrangement because yours is dead on.

I didn't see Adam Rafferty pop up for a search on "billie jean guitar lesson" and since u did kfarrow, I appreciate your contribution and I promise not to call you out essentially because you got the song right. That would be dumb.

  • GOOD WORK MAN !!!! Du you can make a all song tab ??

  • just remove the capo and play on normal strings

  • Great you play fingerstyle guitar !thumbs up

  • Nice lesson. Efficient arrangement.

For more advanced players looking for quick fingering references... it would be nice if the clips began and ended with you playing all three sections together.

Thanks for the post. Ill be using your arrangement tonight.

  • nice!!!! ty!

  • thank u :D

  • wow this helped alot

  • thnk u ur veru gud!

  • Thanks man I got it but mine sounds like it's slow motion. Great tutorial!

  • its way easier i find to play the start in a simple open em chord with just a few pull offs

  • awesome! thank you so much.

  • thanks for taking the time to teach this, I am getting it very slowly, but it makes sense!

  • you are awesome on guitar

  • if you already have the capo on 2nd, when you are doing the bass line you can replace all the 7th frets for opens.... it will make you bass line alot easier

  • wow that is so cool....ty for teaching me.

  • you are the first one hier in youtube who gave such a nice and clear lesson for this tutorial.. big thx

  • Can you play this on Electric Guitar??

  • I dont see why not.. :)

  • awesome !!!!!

  • very good..thanks!!!

  • I can not play this :(

  • its a very good tutorial but im german so its difficult to learn it .

  • This is one of the better tutorials of the many here on Youtube.

  • very good

  • this really helped me

  • awesome men !

  • not the way ur supposed to play it on lead, but bass is right!

  • The chord voicings are purposely simplified here in order to make the total arrangement more manageable for people.

  • tnx for teaching

    ^_^

  • (not critizing your skills) cant you play the 7th fret on the low E as open on the 5th during the bass line?

  • Yes you certainly can. I chose to fret that note because of the difference in tone- I prefer the (what I consider) smoother sound of the note when it's fretted on the lower string.

  • no worries, neway i got my way for the bass now and also addin in chorus notes

  • wow!! im learning it now but it should take some time...hehehee...good tutorial!!!!

  • thanks!very easy

  • thank you so much for this, I am practicing all the time this one. Takes some time to get it smooth, you really helped me get it. Thanks!!!!!
