  • lol @ idiots who think dubai will collapse

they just hate to see success to a Muslim country, a Free country, and a wealthy country

  • To Narrator: You have a nice voice, but you delivery REALLY needs work. Its annoying. Good luck, keep at it, you will be great.

  • @555herder I'm not lying. I love the UAE more than I love myself.

  • I love UAE.

  • AND NEXT WE HAVE "ISRAEL" WHERE IF YOUR NOT A JEW

    YOU LIKELY TO BE SHOT!

  • SHAME ON JOURNEYMAN PICTURES FOR

MAKING A SEGMENT THAT PURELY PROMOTES THE DUBAI'S TOURISM BOARD WITH GUSTO, INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON A BALANCED STORY WHERE THE PROGRAM SHOULD ALSO TALK ABOUT SOCIAL PROBLEMS IN DUBAI.

    THIS IS NOT JOURNALISM!

  • dubai is not going anywhere,

and even if the oil runs out in dubai, which it wont for a good 30 years or more the tourism will bring enough money.

and dont forget dubai is only a small city with a small percentage of the

    united arab emirates oil capacity

    were here to stay.

    3ainawy

  • there can not be better analogy than that of MIRAGE

because this is not real and will vanish once people wake up

  • i slept with the lady at 3:33 a few yrz back

  • What a dreadful place. Probably full of self-important arrogant assholes and ruthless psychopaths.

  • @xzanthius You sir are officially brainwashed.

  • @archangel1092 Could you please enlighten me? How am I 'officially' brainwashed? Thnx.

  • I love how all of these people on youtube feel as if theyre opinion of what another country should do with its money is the most important.

You don't live there, and you certainly don't deal with assets and decisions as big as these.

Stick to making sure your girlfriends not cheating on you, cause that would be a more immediate problem and more important for YOU to solve.

Not the United Arab Emirates problems.

  • palm of dubai was uber waste , they could have build a high tech factory or two for same money

  • i went to ski dubai it was awsome!!!!

  • those islands are sinking cause they dont have enough money to complete them

  • so i see a lot of jealous Americans.. im Egyptian btw, and were all proud i guess that we have Arabs that have gone that far

  • @allegedsuspect have gone that far, and by that far you mean that far in debt?

  • your oil is from an arab

  • oh wow our oil is from the middle east?? that doesnt change the fact that dubai is millions if not billions of dollars in debt?

  • or russians

  • they have just found new oil feild

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that begins at 10:44? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you so much! : )

  • the best video i ever seen.. great job..

thank you sooo much for the video..

  • The biggest folly is to think these countries will just go away when the oil goes thats what america thinks by the time oil runs out they won't need they will have such dynamic well diversified economies it won't matter I mean look at qatar or Saudi arabia for example

  • ok what can't I do here in this city ?

I can't drink or do drugs, so what else ?

  • Lol you cant drink or do drugs, so what can you do?

  • @Sasquatched23 hahhaa you sad soul i'll pray for you

  • @jeeperscreepers0071 thanks i need a little more of that, nice name by the way real orginal, not.

  • @Sasquatched23 lol chase tail

  • Dubai will be down as fast as it was up. Sorry, but not a good future for this city.

  • They should call it one of the biggest follies of the world .

  • I love the video.. there is nothing like Dubai..'' The best pace on earth ""

wish i can be there right now..

soooo beautifll ..thanks you so muh for the video..

  • Who would want to have fun in an Islamic city like Dubai? Dubai is an expensive joke....and it is bankrupt!

  • Dubai Worlds biggest Failure!

  • Banality.

Like something out of a JG Ballard novel.

  • Very True.

  • people with endless amounts of money should put atleast a little bit towards helping the less fortunate. starving children, research for a cure for cancer; not just throwing money around and wasting it.

  • While that is true they also give a lot of money to charities and what not.

  • lol - a 'pillow menu' at the Burj hotel - I can't even afford one pillow!

  • What im trying to figure out is why anybody in their right mind would build property on a desert island. Where are or were the economists to tell these investors what a horrible idea this all is.

  • this is motherfuggin awsome americans drive big trucks to make this all possible need i saw more lol now you crying for the electric cry so they cant have nothing selfish a holes i think they should raise gas prices back to $5 a gallon so they can ball out some more cause they look black like me! =) just keeping it real

  • I don't believe in lottery. I work for my own money and you guys haven't worked for your own money. You have 'borrowed' this money to built your cheap version of New York. Actually New York is hundred times better than dipshit Dubai

  • hmm i noticed that all the people that built dubai were westerners hmmm funny that

  • Its really sad. All their dreams will be shattered because no one really wants this kind of lifestyle. People today want simple living but the arabs wont get it. Obama please get the electric cars rollin so we can get rid of their oil.

  • Your just making excuses because you're jealous of their success and oil. You know you'll never be as successful and as rich as them. 'simple living'...yeah right LOL. I'm sure you won't have a 'simple living' lifestyle If u won the lottery. Stop lying to yourself.

  • YES!

  • Why are JP posting an advert for Dubai tourism? Some free accomodation mayb?

  • Are you people for real???All you can do with your money is to build snow mountains in the desert and 7 stars hotels covered in gold???Ooo,God...you're watching this???The planet is overpopulated, pollution all time high, hunger the same, and you're playing God in the desert.Good for you!!!We'll see what happens when all the ice will melt down south...

  • Is this a documentary or an ad? Pffft

  • $6,000 a night. That money can do a lot for people who need it but then we live in a selfish world so what the heck.

  • Yeh, they didn't even mention the billions of dollars of debt in Dubai that will have to be written off...

  • it's disgusting that all they can think to do with this money is build glittery islands and hotels. Imagine if that went to fixing world hunger, but no they just like to wallow in their own greed.

  • Fuck that. Don't risk it.

  • maybe we should concentrate on building desert in the himalyan moutains,

  • No No No, forget feeding the poor, and saving the earth, lets just put 22 carat gold leaf on are walls, and Build Snow fuckin mountains.

  • aries1g

    Well said!

  • thanks, well its true!

  • you're so....right. its shameful what people choose to do and how they don't think about whats really important.

  • James Bond would love this place

  • 3:35

  • Do they have five guys to stir their hot chocolate too?

  • allah is punishing them now..............

this is what hapened when u treat ur workers like slave...

  • What punishment do you speak of? The propaganda you are hearing on America TV about Dubai crashing? That place needed a slow down (pull back), it will not be long and they will be back booming.

Now as far as workers being treated as slaves well, sometimes countries are built using slaves!

  • Welcome to Dubai

  • Dubai the city of gold

  • my life sucks

  • Everybody came to build Dubai. But only the economist weren't invited

  • Dubai defies nature to an extreme.

Lesson from nature: trees don't last long in deserts...

All of these riches seem to be existing without foundation. & on the backs of poor immigrants from SEA & India.

  • 10:31 I know for a fact that Shanghai has an indoor skiing place as well as a outdoor sand skiing resort.

  • red china will bail them out soon.

  • There is no absolute ownership in Dubai. Plus they are only focusing on luxury, not on common man needs. And it has all the signs of bubble.

  • If I'm ever rich enough I definitely want to go to Dubai. Why does this video not talk about the economic and environmental effects of this massive real estate build up in Dubai? Are there any negatives for the local population?

  • Not the locals, the Emirati are all really rich. They only comprise of about 1/10 of Dubai's population. However this is all built up by slave-like laborers from the Indian subcontinent, who make up the majority of Dubai's population.

And you don't have to be rich. I heard it is really cheap to travel to Dubai at the moment, they are not doing very well. Now is the time to go and enjoy it before it all collapses.

  • Now there in debt. what a shame. building all of th is construction and now fallen so low. 60 billion in the hole. dubai along with abu dhabi. thats what you get for underpaying workers. cant even pay them normal salaries. when it comes to human rights they lack a whole lot. they kick out the ones who cant find jobs and call themselves developed.

  • mclaren you're spot on. They treat workers worse than I would treat my worst worst enemy and now expect tourists to flock to middle east. I mean people in the west have something called conscience and who would want to go to a place built with slave labour. All those middle east leaders are mad, i reckon.

  • All capitalist societies use slave labor.

Britain during the 1800's used child labor and many died working in those factories, Now those factories have been outsourced elsewhere but work in a capitalist society is still exploitation albeit much less obvious.

  • Lets forget about britain in the 1800s, lets concentrate on NOW instead of living in the past.

  • FFS this is just an advertisement for Dubai. Journeyman, what are you doing advertising this crap? Have some dignity!

  • disgusting.

  • anyone know what track is playing around 11:25?

  • dumb arabs getting fooled by foreigners to build all this infrastructure for a travel destination country, when your gas and petroleum reserved are all gone then what? you are in tons of debt in say about 50 years Travel isnt going to lift you off your feet instead of investing in hotels and "trying" to make dubai a financial center of the world WHICH WILL NEVER HAPPEN! build infrastructure that will bring revenue to your country instantly like factories, make new products etc etc.

  • You are right all real world financial capitals started out with building factories first and luxuries second. Cities like London, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and New York all went this way. Dubai is empty on the inside, it is not going to compete with those cities I listed, if they are lucky they Dubai might be able to compete with Macao and Las Vegas. I doubt that though...muslims and gambling don't seem like a good fit.

  • How does Dubai escape being attacked by terrorist extremists? Because they have a very western materialistic hedonistic ideal I would think that Dubai would be on every terrorists hit-list. That town bankrolls terrorists that's why they don't get attacked, and that's the biggest kept secret in the world.

  • and now we all know the secret, tsk tsk tsk

  • yeah, don't they launder tons of money at the gold center? I hear thats the place to go if you need to clean up a few million bucks.

  • @VelvetVellocet it's a matter of being attacked, most fighters of an extremist nature come from opressed areas (afghanistan/pakistan/ some areas of indonessia) and fight against oppressive powers.

Media has done a great job making people think (9/11) was cause by their hatred of the western lifestyle when i realy has to do with oppression and unlawful insurgensies into another man s country.

Dubai has not oppresed the muslim factions.

BTW I WOULD TOTALY SPEND $1000 DOLLARS TO STAY.

  • @VelvetVellocet stupid american i guess perhabs a jelous jew zionist??

  • @suspendedb4 you must be one of those Muslims with your head stuck up your ass. blinded and brainwashed by the biggest sham cult on the planet. you're going to hell you know that right? by the way - i'm not a christian, and not a jew. I'm not religious at all because it's brainwashing dogma. mankind was on earth long before religion was created. all religions are man made and are fucking up the world. fuck off, fuck islam, and fuck you!

  • what a shame. wealth is not endless.

  • I for one am saddened by the Collapse of such a progressive Arabian city. What once had the power to lead the Islamic World into the 21st century might now fade into darkness.

  • dubai is a good investment.

    MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAHAHAHAHAHA

    hmmm yeah.

  • unsustainable.. in 50 years time, it will most likely be deserted..

  • such a fake and evil place.

everyone there is for the reason to make money

  • wow!

  • All very "noble" putting their Oil to 'good use'.Replacing Oil as a source of income with Tourism sounds good, but what's going to power all these luxury places after their oil is gone?

  • good point. they sould build solar panels. I'm sure they have enough money to build like a 100 square mile diamond encrusted solar panel to get electricity.

  • And now Dubai blew up and we haven't even seen the real number of the all debts! ZH reports today that it nears 100 Billion number!

  • great shopping in Dubai!!!

  • NOW that dubai has collapsed, everyone is a critic...

  • i personally don't like Dubai it has such a superficial feel to it when you visit. though i also don't think it would collapse, Abu Dhabi will surly come to the rescue. that's where all the money is you know.

  • yeh thats true, i guess they played for very high stakes, the gamble did'nt pay off, but no need for every1 to hate, alot ppl i knew thought it was the new EL dorado and wanted to work there or invest there...

  • There is never enough for these people. One Sheik gets a Gold plated Lamboghinni the Sheik across the street will get himself a diamond encrusted Lamborghinni.

    UAE the Gluttons of excess.

  • @valhala56 well said

  • @valhala56 Except it's us westerners who make the extravagance all possible.

  • and the water will wash it all away

  • more money than sense

  • opec money

  • Indeed a lot of british and european money too. TWO WEEKS before this collapase Barclays was suggesting its customers to buy Dubai's debt. There's a lot of bankers here who deserve to be sent in a desert to cultivate date palms.

  • eco-monster, temple of CO2 production, shameful luxury and waste. They've to chill even tap water and swimming pools. A space base in a habitat hostile to life.

They stuff the town with people hired to build it, no real demand, because very few people would like to live in such a place. They had enough money for the hype, but is has stopped working.
