Great joystick. The profile editor is good (When you update it to current revision) and the drivers need to be updated online aswell but other than that it feels great and is very enjoyable.
and one question, my yoke is getting a bit lose after some long flight hours, which still works as it used to do before but is that something I need to worry about?
Did u see the guy who bashed it to the driveway? I'm getting mine next 14 days. Really shitfaced scared :( Does the twist fail? and are there limits to it? Should I put a hub or plug it to the USB on the laptop directly? urgent to response. Thanks
hey guys, ive been trying to find out y exactly the mouse controll blue thing on my throttle quadrant isnt working or the mouse button or the scroll. its detected on the mfd but in the sims, it wont detect it. plz help
Hello... I've had this joystick for nearly a year, and right now I can't use the rotatory axis (or whatever it's called, it's normally used for the rudder) because it goes hella crazy moving all over. Also, at first, the Y axis (elevator) suddenly went all the way down, although that was a cable problem and I could easily solve it... Still couldn't solve the first mentioned problem since that one has a more complicated device in the stick. ANYWAY
...I can't complain, it's well known that some X52s had various cable/electric supply problems, so that's another context. This HOTAS is AWESOME, you get truly surprised at how many damn functions, commands, macros etc. you can assign. It's a really helpful system, as well as its software. ONLY thing I could never fix or find an answer for is that the stopwatch is a bit faster than normal, like 7 seconds faster per minute... Has this happened to anyone else? I'd be glad if someone has an answer!
Make sure the drivers are installed. Go to the control panel, game controllers, click "properties" with the x52 selected. Go to the MFD tab and look down. Depending on your drivers, the first one may or may not be permanently set at GMT (I think my old driver allowed it to be changed, but not my current one). Once the time is set, press the up and down arrows to change what time zone you're looking at. Don't forget you have a stopwatch with the function button.
... most hardware allows you do download drivers, if you can't download drivers it's a bad product. So I would say you will be fine. It will come with a CD too.
ceesna quick question about the throttle quadrant iv noticed that one would work for my right hand because i control the stick with my left hand could you tell me how i can find this version because al the ones i see or for the left hand??
For heavy use this joystick is terrible. The rudder on mine broke after moderate over only a couple months. I have heard countless reports from other gamers who have had this PoS break on them. CH Products makes the most reliable flight sim equipment available today.
You skipped the most important part of the review - how easy is it to configure? Are there an abundance of profiles available? I have an X52 PRO, which is a nightmare in those regards.
how long u had this x52 for? im asking coz i wanna buy a reliable product that doesn't wobble or have free play ( like my garbage logitech 3d pro which i had for 3 months- have to set all axis deadzones to 20%)
Me peronally, i just got it and i wont be lookin in to getting any other one, cause the joystick alone is sweet with all the buttons you can you and the XYZ axis is so light, so it doesnt strain yoiu hand in trying to put back or forward. id get it man.
This guy is wrong, I had problems and Im a flight sim vet. The reason I bought this was because my previous x45 broke after my room mate spilled juice on it....
The rudders are glitchy, the tension for the throttle broke ! and the force on the joystick itself feels too light and arcady...
hey, my friend bought this a while ago and all the features of this joystick are actually pretty good, everything on the thrust quadrant work very well. the only problem i have with this joystick is that the joystick itself, its very lose.. i could use my pinkie and push it all the way to the side without the base moving much. where as my JS which would tip over like right away lol. i prefer a tighter and harder js. this 1s to easy to move. thanks for listening and doing this review ^_^
i got mine yesterday and i like it but sence I am not very good with computers so i can't figure out how to chage which buttons do what. if anyone could please help me it would be great.
I got mine from Fry's Electronics. I have had a Saitek Cyborg Evo for 8 Years atleast, and it has been Strong ever since. So Knowing how long the Evo lasts, There is a good chance that this could last even longer while constantly used.
Not to mention that you will Really Get Drawn into your game a lot more when using both hands! XD
I have the pro, its amazing! the only complaint i have is that it is super expensive... the Pro has a awesome MFD. It allows you to change radios, auto pilot, nav radios, ect, ect
lol I got bad luck, couldnt find the 360 controller for windows but I found the saitek cyborg controller so I got that. 2 days later I found the 360 controller in a shop I was pissed. XD can you turn the right stick into the mouse?
the pro has some metal parts, has reverse thrust, the display screen can actually be used for radio etc, better springs. cant be bothered to list the rest.
i agree with the vid it is the best joystick stick but out of the other equipment i like saitek's yoke and throttle control they also got some other fancy stuff in the pro flight range but im getting the X-52 because it looks so freaking awesome preferrably the HOTAS version any idea how far the will set me back?
The "thrust-control" goes from 0-100 and snaps over the 25% and 75% regions. This allows both reverse thrust section and After-burner. The "snaps" are a bit hard to overcome, so any fine-tuning over those regions is a bit difficult.
unfortunatly no, BUT if u know how to use the profile editor u can set (i use the precision slider (by your left thumb)) 3 different "bands" to an axis and have one band as blank the middle as F1 and the one u want for thrust reverse as F2. When u slide it into the F2 percentage area that u programed, it will "hold down" F2 and serve as a thrust reverser. and when u slide it back it will move across the F1 band, to idle the engines, and stay in the blank area so it doesnt keep pressing F1 or F2.

If You want to shut the rudder axis off, there is this little "switch" on the right side at the bottom of the stick....if you pull it out (it won't fall off completely don't worry) the stick can't be twisted anymore.
YOU ARE GREAT at presenting something! i just like the way you say everything to the point like "don't break it and you wont have problems" Great absolutely GREAT!!!! and you do deserve the Subscriptions awesome job man, keep it up!

Wts the point of having two Pan aound switches?
PlaneAU 3 years ago
If you mean the "Hat switches" there are actually 3 of them... (one is on the back of the throttle)
But since you have 3 modes on the joystik you actually have 6...
And since there is a "SHIFT"-state for each mode you actually have 12 hat-switches. ;)
There is a reason it's called HOTAS.

The "thrust-control" goes from 0-100 and snaps over the 25% and 75% regions. This allows both reverse thrust section and After-burner. The "snaps" are a bit hard to overcome, so any fine-tuning over those regions is a bit difficult.
