  • 😃😃😃❤👏❤👏❤👏!!!!!

  • Still love this song!

  • Man, oh man...I still get crazy when I hear this song!

  • they look so good in those glittery suits.

  • wow!!!.....Johny Gill is obviously the BEST....the third dude...ok first of all EEeeeewwwWWW!!!!!....... and when he came out no one recognized him.... he Totally ruined the song...... which would later become a classic...... I LVE U JOHNY.... LSG was the BEST group setting for u... and wat was up wit all the hip grindin and crotch poppin??....LOL

  • shot go hard

  • omg i miss this show i was 11 when i saw my frist black tv host at midnight never again will i see another one like this 2011.lol.

    as silly as that sounds.

  • RALPH TRESVANT is NEW EDITION

  • @jodavis120 sho nuff right!

  • my favorite song by these guys! Love Ricky Bell what a voice...he can sing to me all day long!!

  • favorite performace done

  • Johnny Gill brought maturity to New Addition.

  • Ron had the dance moves, Mike had the rapping ability, Ricky has the best high pitched singing ability, and Ralph and Johnny were just awesome. does anyone agree?

  • @rizzy252 Yes completely. That's why they were all successsful as a group. as well as outside it. :)

  • oh man ..gave me they gave me a goosebump

  • Classic!

  • lol @the end...ralph tried to take the show over , but johnny gill had to show em what time it was. and rick too....but they all were good singers in their own right. too bad they kept fighting

  • johnny gill is a beast!!!!

  • New Edition even though they were some bad brothers will always remind me of one thing... The crack epidemic in DC... Brothers were jammin to New Edition and shooting everything that move while slinging those rocks... By the way, Johnny Gil gave those brothers some serious vocals... It was like Luther singing with the Chipmonks!!! SIKE! Just funnin...

  • @DSCOBLUE you are funny! they do sound like the chipmunks, huh? hahaha!!1

  • Is it me or did Ricky mess up

  • @rizzy252 Dude couldn't sing, he just happened to be in the group. He tried to sing that high note but his voice was cracking like Bobby Brown's did after a glass of Hennessey and a joint...

  • @rizzy252 i was thinking the same thing lol

  • Johnny Gill is one of the best baritone voices of all time.

  • Was this 1989?

  • I remember when this aired. I was sitting right in front of my floor model tv screaming my lungs out like I was sitting in the audience.....Love me some NE especially Rizz....Oh and by the way I also remember loving their outfits!!!!

  • all tha ladies screem wen ralph comes in WEN I NEED SUMBODY

  • Late 80's to early 90's R&B... Was IT!

  • BOYSIIMEN VERSION IS WAY BETTER

  • @robotmunk It was a good knock off but I think the original is untouchable. Boyz II Men are a spin off of NE. Michael Bivins created Biv 10 records after the success of NE & BBD. The East Coast family, ABC (another bad creation), 702, MC Brains & of course Boyz II Men were only some of the artist he had on his label. Michael Bivins set Boyz II Men up just like NE. (Matching outfits, dancing & good vocalist) He obviously have a ear 4 talent. Too bad the industry don't use ears like his n e more.

  • This song is vastly under-rated.

  • Pure butta!!!!

  • where is the video

  • Love it! Classic R&B...No Autotune!

  • I miss the Arsenio Hall show.

  • this live version is not really good too much draggin of the voice and the high pitch was off . not my cup of tea

  • When Johnny start that growlin' its wrap lol

  • Im I The Only One Who Noticed Mike Came Up To Early Ritee Before Ralph's Part?Hahahah Love New edition!!!

  • which one's bobby brown?

  • @rjfowler2002 Bobby wasn't with the group at this point....

  • @elphaba30 Thanks! didn't know that. What a great song with the guys awesome harmonys! do they still get together and tour at all? thanks for any info.

  • I didnt know ricky sung lead too on this song.

  • Wow i got fever....or is it shivers....ohh helllll....

  • Wow i got fever....or is it shivers....ohh helllll....

  • OMG, I have this episode on VHS!! I typed it because of my LOVE for new edition!!! Too funny.

  • Damn I was watching the Awakening which came on the same time and Chicago.

  • New Edition was right on, very special song.

  • Man i miss being young

  • Comment removed

  • I REMEMBER THE NIGHT THIS AIRED. IT WAS ABOUT 1130PM

I HAD SCHOOL THE NEXT DAY BUT I HAD TO STAY UP AND RECORD THIS ON THE VCR.

THANK GOD IT WAS A SNOW DAY THE NEXT DAY.

I WATCHED THIS ALL DAY LONG.

  • is Ralph in the wrong key?

  • This iz old... I was like 5 or 6

  • JOHNNY GILL HAS A PREACHER VOICE WHEN HE REALLY SINGS.BUT NUTHIN IS WRONG WIT DAT

  • Heavy

  • Best Late Nite Show.... ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love it i sing jus like ralph

  • my lil girl heard this and fell in love with NE. See we can control what I kids hear instead of this crap on the radio now

  • Let me tell you something....these boys are BAD !!!! I love them ...great performers, they really give it their all..so old school. I miss this.

  • if i was stuck in a time decade it would have to be the 80;s

  • wish we could go back to these days...

  • Johnny Gill has the voice of an angel

  • the guys were looking mighty fruit baskety at this time, especially ralph the pelvic monster.

  • lol 2:20 - 2:35 brotha couldn't hit that high note and ran out of gas. lol but i love this group!

  • Ralph T made the group!

  • Good video...except the comments about the idiot bringing up Alexander O Neal.

  • why at 1:51 does the drummer have a wife beater on and the group has on tuxes?! Where is the unity people lmao!!!!!!

  • Johnny is still my baby! Love his voice!!!

  • man new edition and the boys was my shit when i was like 5

  • that spin move by ralph at the beginning was crucial!

  • Luv their voices, but those jackets and hats...mmmm I don't know bout that fellas...even tho it was the late 80's. lol Ah well..those were the times

  • @yokeelee hey them jackets hot...i got one in yellow and one in red...

  • classic!!!

  • PRICELESS!!!!! At 40, nobody can touch these men!!!

  • the snare is good enough to be on a metal performance!! Who ever teched it... good on them!!

  • Oh... i love me some Ricky & Ralph.

  • They developed into some great singers and performers. WOW! What happened to them today?

  • I wonder who's the drummer. Looks like Denis Chambers but probably not.

  • This reminds me so much of college!

  • Man, I miss those boys! Wow!

  • Arsenio we love and miss you you are the best and will never be fogotten for the way you impacted the lives of your viewers espically African Americans you are a true host we watched for you not the guests!

  • They recorded this tune with Alexander O'Neal.

  • More importantly with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis

  • The reason I said that was cause Johnny Gill is there with them instead of Alex O'neal.. . .

  • So you're telling me Alexander O'Neal sang co lead on this song and not brand new member Johnny Gill back in '88?

  • @stonedog23

Dude is seriously confused! LMAO!!! Alex was in the Time before Morris Day. Not NE!!!

  • One the of the best performance ever !

Ralph was getting down when he was beatboxing & dancing:)

    Love It !

NEW EDITION FAN FOR LIFE !

  • @HollyWoodStar2000

you right on point Ralph is still the man oooh how I loved them and still do but they had beef amongst them johnny and Ricky could not stand each other did you see when ricky grabbed the mike from johnny and said give me the mike in a nasty way dam that was awful !

  • This song brings back so many memories. This was the era of the most awesome music. I am so happy that I experienced it all.

  • I was totally in love with New Edition as a kid.

  • ralph is the greatest lead singer since michaeljackson totoally underrated

  • Ughh man...This song makes me want one. Not a booty call, or a full night of sex. But a relationship, a girlfriend. I love this song

  • Johnny was my boy back in the day! I always thought he made that song what it was!

  • a combination of JG + tremendous production by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis kicked NE up many notches...they literally changed from boys MEN...

  • i love me some Mike

  • The suit design is even cool, the hankerchief in the sleeve.

  • Ralph is killin' that sh**!

  • I used the love Arcenio's show!! I miss him...he was so talented and has just fell off the scene. Come back Arcenio...love NE also! :0)

  • I love New Edition.. But they are clearly at their worse on this appearance! lol... At first I was so into the way they did the vocal arrangements.. But when the notes started running sour, my ears began to bleed... Starting at 2:12 and NOTABLY at 2:22! LOL at RICKY!!!

  • @ 2:22, Ricky DID fuck that note up!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

  • @Ltron9 I wanted to throw a tomato at him! lol

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAA

  • PUT HALL ON DVD DAMNIT!

  • THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • Was Johnny Gill doin the StankY LeG, in the beginning.lol

  • LMMFAO!!!! GOOD ONE

  • You're a fool lol ha ha ha

  • They don't get no credit

  • I love NE. I miss the days when they were the biggest group out. And I miss the Arsenio show too... I wish I could bring back the late 80's and early 90's

  • that's one ugly looking piece of fabric

  • This is my JAM! And it's older than I am! Haha

  • I remember this episode. I was in college. Brings back memories!

  • this had to be 1990 the good old days with hot guys!

  • 1989 to be exact

  • Can we get back to GOOD hip-hop, smooth out on a r&b tip, with pop appeal feel to it????

  • wen was this

  • NE!

  • Shoot, there would be NO New Edition if it weren't J5. These guys are truly gifted, but MJ and company gave them their talent.

  • If by talent you mean inspiration, then yes I would have to agree.

NE is another untouchable group in the music industry...

  • What the Temps and J5 gave NE was inspiration and a platform to showcase their talents.Nobody gives you talent. You either got it,or you don't.That's like saying James Brown gave Michael his talents.Michael was born with it,just like NE.

  • i love new edition! but y you are even comparing the 2? is beyond me? cause its 2 group of 5 black kids? 1 was a family! not a group of friends? and mike was 5! not in teens like n.e.! no way you cant say mj is not one the most talented artist ever! and u rip him the most? u want to compare album sales? i like n.e. better also, but u cant compare? jax 5 first 4 songs #1! NEVER DONE EVER! and mikes fame after group eclipses everything! well he dead now, by this blog? im sure your happy

  • srfu

  • I ♥ NEW EDITION!!!!!....I wish times were still like this, I miss Arsenio

  • I miss the 80s and the 90s!!!!

  • I love New Edition too but don't disrespect Jackson 5

  • this song is a classic, soo beautifull and lifts my day!

  • I miss the 90's...

  • same here, 90's was the best

  • This is when men looked like men

  • hell yeah! :-)

  • Ahhhhhh...I LUV THEM!!!!!

  • u don't know shit about great music. Get an education on legends and what they bring and who's coping them bcuz everybody takes from the J5. EVERYBODY

  • yup.. j5 made the formula all boy bands since follow... period. hell even new edition looks up to j5/jacksons.. come ON!! abc? stop the love you save? can you feel it? i can go on for days!

i effin LOVE new edition though... J5/jacksons .. the temps.. new edition... can't get any better boy bands!

  • no new edition is not better than J5.

  • Is Johnny Gill gay? Is Ronnie DeVoe married yet?

  • okay..

first off johnny gill is not and was never gay

    and ronnie devoe is married

  • i had heard that too

  • Cuz I need somebody to stand by me, through the good times, the bad times, you will always, always be right there...

Sunny days, everybody loves them, but tell me baby, can you stand the rain?

Storms will come, this we know for sure, but tell me baby, can you stand the rain?

  • And Bobby Brown???

  • This was 1989, at this time Bobby Brown was on top of the charts with "My Prerogative."

  • And not the Jackson 5! The Jacksons if you know the difference.

  • I didn't ask for your whole analogy.

  • They actin' so stupid on 5:07-6:58

  • 1:21.. I think Johnny hit a sour note.....

  • I think that was Rick!!!

  • does anyone kno what year this was... i remember stayin up as a kid for arsenio hall to come on with new edition i remember getting chills off this performance...i love this and the jodeci performance with them around a piano!!!!!

  • had 2 be either 88 or 89. this song came out in 88 and so did the arsenio hall show.

  • No, Arsenio Hall's show came on in Jan of 1989 not 1988. The song was released in 1988 but the performance was in 1989.

  • The Jacksons and New Edition are the two best music groups. Except the jacksons are better.

  • New Edition was the stuff and still is.

  • Dayum a classic performance, sung LIVE not tha lip synching we c 2day. Brutha not included cuz they CAN sing live.

  • i actually thought ralph was gay lol

  • HATER!

  • i love johnny

  • johny is so gay lol

  • cant beat this shit, remember when they broke up and all the shit was awsome and ralph was last and he didnt disappoint

  • jonny killz da beginning

  • Check how Ralph did the spin then landed on the side of the wall.... He thought he was a young Michael Jackson

  • Arsenio (The Show) was great!!!

  • SICK TO DEATH!!!!! I really miss them.

  • this song brings back so many memories.

  • How come I get a thumbs down? I didn't write anything bad. Show some love folks.

  • Wait. Wait. Wait. Are thy wearing white socks??? Only MIchael Jackson can pull that off.

  • LOL I thought they were spats... got me doubtin myself. Love NE and Mike though, white socks and all.

  • Yeah I love Mike. Did you read his book Moonwalk? It's a great read if you haven't.

  • I need to! I always meant to pick that up. I did get "Michael Jackson Conspiracy" by Aphrodite Jones. Now THAT was great. Thanx for tha heads up.

  • People get thumbs down crazy on here sometimes. Watch me get 7 thumbs downs for this comment lol

  • I luv this song and I miss the eighties and nineties but I don't miss the fashion. Thank GOD that period has come to an end.

  • I luv this song. One of my all time favourites. They dont make music like this anymore.

  • NEW EDITION was effortless, they didnt have to over do they didnt have to try to hard, they just were...GREAT!!!!

  • Sang fellas!!!!!!

  • I actually remember seeing this performed on the Arsenio show in the 80s, as you can tell from the fashion. It was a long rendition of the song, but it's a good one with good lyrics: "Sunny days, everybody loves them, but tell me baby, can you stand the rain?"

  • johnny lays it down

  • WOW Johnnie got my panties wet all over again! LOL

  • Then you might need to take those off and wash'em!!

  • This is when Love was Love. When you used to get that girls numer and be on Cloud 9. 1989 those where the days. Now everything is so bad. I miss you "89" and I miss you True Love Can you stand the rain.....

  • i love new edition but they know they need to take them suits off. i know it was back in the day but DAMN....
