Har en Norsk ide her.. Har dere noengang tettet en støvsuger? Da går faktisk motoren på den FORTERE, fordi det ikke er luft inni viftehuset som yter motstand på viftebladene.. Min ide er ganske enkelt å bruke et spjeld i innsuget istedet for BOV. Hva tror dere? Se for dere dette: Du drar på med din turbo-bil, og slipper gassen for å gire. Istedet for å utløse BOV'en stenger vakumsignalet et spjeld i innsuget rett før turboen, som da snurrer fortere!

Og det er jo selve poenget med BOV,at turboen ikke sakker så mye når gassen slippes. Nå er det ikke sikkert at den vil gå fortere, ettersom kraften som driver den også forsvinner. Men den vil i allefall ikke gå saktere. En videreutvikling av systemet som ennå bare er teoretisk kan tenkes å bruke spjeldet ved lave ladetrykk, hvor det da står bare litt åpent for å holde farten på turboen oppe, så man får mindre "lag" når man skal gi gass.

Muligens kan dette også kombineres med en såkalt "Synchronic" BOV, som åpner når man ikke har ladetrykk, så motstanden i turboanlegget elimineres. Dette vil øke dreiemomentet når man kjører "off-boost.". Som en side-effekt vil man også kunne konstruere systemet slik at man faktisk kan koble turboen ut, utvilsomt en fordel hvis man har en hardt trimmet bil og svigermor eller tante skal låne den på butikken, jfr "effekt-nøkkelen" på Corvette ZR-1.

its a BOV (blow of Valve) it allows the Boosted air from the turbo to be released so it doesnt blow the motor. and you need a Turbo or Supercharger to have that "sound"

Yes its a 4 cyl inline engine. It was made in different versions and had anywhere from 110- to 160HP. Its a very good engine for tuning.

I dont know anything about Rangers but the engine was engineered before Ford bought Volvo. The B230 was engineered by Volvo and was released in 1985. Modifications was made through the next 10 years I believe, and I believe the last modified B230 was the B234. A turbo charged engine which alot claim to be the best turbo charged engine ever made in Sweden.
