I listen to a lot of Dark Roots music, but I would definitely recommend Rachel Brooke. From what I hear, Farmageddon Records is putting out quality stuff as of late.

What are the instruments used in this recording? I can make out a guitar and something which I don't recognize! Where is the banjo?

The best recording I have heard of the original Carter Family singing and playing this song.  A good song to hear Sarah Carter singing lead. A beautiful alto voice.
