i thought the same thing...if you make the trip to maui or big island you have to do the two huge climbs...crazy fun. maui peaks at 10023 feet...38 miles from sea level...took me 4hr, 2 min. on the big island the road goes to 13000...crazy hard...inclines over 15% for long stretches...middle of nowhere...I had to ride 0 feet to 5500 in 35 miles just to get to the climb.
