Where is it well documented? Even the stuff you can find on the original MKULTRA experiments is frustratingly vague, partial and inconclusive. But then maybe the fact that it's still shrouded in mystery explains the hold it still has over peoples' imaginations. Bring that stuff out into the light and examine it thoroughly and maybe its legendary status among mind-control enthusiasts would dissolve.
Using mirroring to hypnotise people is well documented. When I started out as a hypnotherapist I would do this (and still do) in cafe's, libraries, on buses, on trains, in meetings etc to practice putting people into hypnosis or any other state of mind (sleep, laughter, etc) without their knowledge using just non-verbal skills that will benefit the person or be harmless (if I am practicing).
I would think you could probably do stuff such as laughter or maybe even so far as a sneeze but i doubt you could mirror a trance. Couldn't a person interpret it as simply sleeping rather than a trance?
Yeah, I'm also skeptical about this kind of hypnosis, thats why I quoted the word "mirroring". I don't think you can do an induction just by mirroring someone for a few minutes and then pretending to sleep. Without a word, from the distance, like so. It just doesn't work this way.
Derren mirrors the actions of the 1st person, rather than her mirroring him. With the 2nd person, it's harder to judge. Both he and DB are seen eating; at some point they're bound to take a mouthful at the same time. Anyway, the editing of the first two people is very selective. The 3rd person is in on the stunt, and the mirroring is choreographed. Don't know about manipulating people in public, but as a TV presenter, it's clearly in DB's interests to have a suggestible viewing audience.
@9ertsch Derren Brown is pretty big in Britian, and just like Criss Angel and David Blaine, eventually people come forward to talk about the set ups. And those two didn't announce that they didn't use stooges. If you announce that you don't use stooges, and are using stooges.
Thats a bit misleading. People are influenced day in day out the point is they dont realize they are being thats why its covert. Hypnotists say that and its true about direct suggestion. Indirect is a little different.
Sorry to say that, but STAGED.

Did that little girl have to stand there for an hour while Derren was trying to find the right person for this?!

This is not mirroring it's matching technique from nlp :
-you can see that derren brown move the right hand when the other person move the right hand.
-Mirroring is when you simulate a mirror : when the person move the right hand you move the left
Derren brown should inestigate on the most of his show lol it's scum

@MassimoMorelli1985 Actually you can, if someone is trying to be polite they'll sit in a calm way and if you change your position he'll do it too.
