You all ought to read the book, "How the Irish saved Civilization". It's an account of the Roman Empire burning and how Irish Monks saved all the historical art and history from being destroyed by the German invaders.
This isn't The Dubliners singing this song...i have a 3 cd boxed set called Irish Favorites and it has this exact song on it...it says performed by the Starlite Singers
My dad taught me this song when i was a little girl. We sung it together, and apperently it was the cutest thing when i said "I spent all my money on wiskey and bears" :D oh the good days :)
Good as second place....if you like this, check out the original German version by: Klaus und Klaus - An der Nordsee Kueste that is a fun and classic one.
