LOL I only found out about this band from a very close friend of mine here recently. :) I now have them all in my fav's list. They are awesome to listen to with some of the things we like to do at the beat of the music.
Now they are on Tour this year and not close enough to go see them live, that sux
unfortunately in greece where i live, bands like She wants revenge, are not radio-friendly...see here radios play all day lady gaga kesha and other shit like these...it's way too difficult to search and to play new music styles like darkwave-dance altenrative, like SWR...
@elenaki312 This doesnt get much radio play in the states either, MAYBE if you live in a big college town with decent radio stations, but it got very limited radio play in general.
This has a great sound. it reminds me of early Human league before they became famous and had the girls in the band. Listen to 'Empire State Human' or 'Being Boiled'. Very similar voices.
Genres cause a lot of conflict but Dark Wave, suits them better than indie rock OR gothic rock.
Do you know how many bands (Gothic or Industrial) become Dark Wave when they show a profound Depeche Mode influence (or synthpop), it's like a curse. =] examples:
'Suspiria' covered "Behind The Wheel"
'The Mission UK' covered "Never Let Me Down Again"
'Razed in Black' covered "Lie to Me", "New Dress"... (lots of more)
...heck, Razed in Black even covered Out of Control by SWR!! Youtube it.
@Phoenixsinger93 lol if not the same genre they are still in the same sub genre of electronica as cruxshadows and even wolfsheim for that matter.
theres no argument here. what do they have? no violins? Oh thats your deal breaker. I see. They use synth the same way cruxshadows uses violins. get over it.
@Phoenixsinger93 I see you must be new. There are people who listen to music, and then people who listen to music....
Whether Cruxshadows makes use of violins instead of pure synth is irrelevant. You could sync violins to this song in their exact bpm, replace almost all of the synth, and have a typical Cruxshadows song.
@jayrebb I never made mention of Cruxshadows use of violin over synth. I just said they didn't sound similar and they don't. The vocal and lyrical themes are also different. Cruxshadows all and all are much worse than SWR.
I dont recognise a gothic influence. I bet if you dig a little you will find a Joy Division New Order Influence playing a part in this bands evolution.
New Order yes. But there are other bands than Joy Division, which played a part in Bauhaus', The Sisters, Siouxsie and The Banshees "evolution" just as much. Even in Dead Can Dance's first steps as a band. Even This Mortal Coil
Joy Division was the first, everybody knows. So you're going to hear them in every single band, indie, (original) goth, and everything post-punk.
Seriously, I love this band, probably more than Aurelia, but if your listening your probably listening to this you, and you hate it, than you probably need to listen to top 20 radio. WOW, I love this song
Well, now I have that off my mind. I love the band personally, and the song isn't bad. Although, it reminds me of a Christmas song we play at work in the lyrics. lol
"Stupidly beautiful"...? Are you frickin' serious?! Did you seriously just type that?! Were you trying to be poetic or something?! You failed miserably my dear. And really, no need to jump on a person's case for a comparison. You don't like it, keep the fingers in a fist and don't type the feelings. You don't like the comparison, say so... -.-; Geez... Don't get all uppity! Pull your undies from your rear end. x.x;
...so devoid of beauty that depeche mode liked the album and had them go on tour with them ! who are you to say if something is not "art" because you dont like it.
I see this band compared to Bauhaus, Depeche Mode, but I don't see that. Parts of this song kind of remind me of Soft Cell though..
