She was robbed. Vocal powerhouse. That was my first year of watching American Idol, and I couldn't believe she wasn't in the top 2 at least. Usually the criticism seemed biased and totally off from Simon and Randy. Paula was right on.

I think Randy and Simon didn't like she was the one who actually appealed to someon else besides 12 yr olds. Amazing performance every week those two beat her down, I think intentionally. Carly you were robbed. David Cook hasn't burned up the charts.....

I stopped watching Idol when she got voted off that week.... she was the only contestant left who could belt it that hardcore. Stupid Americans... she was amazing, most idiculous upset ever...

I think she was voted off that week because people with different religions may have found that... not right in their perspective, therefore they stopped voted for her.

omg, i've been singing this masterpiece for about 5 years and yet i think it is one of the most difficult expressively to ever be performed. Carly is a goddess, she is my greatest inspiration, i found out about her through WE ARE THE FALLEN, she is absolutely awesome, i would be glad like crazy if i ever had the chance to see her performing live. Carly was between a rock and a hard place. She did a great job singing but JCS has always been a hot-button musical for a lot of people who look for reasons to be easily offended. While I watched her performance that night I remember thinking, "ALW you threw her under the bus". And then she was gone........

This is NOT a religious song -- have you ever seen "JCS?" It's a deconstruction of Jesus and religion, and the bible. It's very "anti-religion" really. What this song does (and the musical's story arc and the rest of the score) is push Jesus off the Christian glorified religious pedestal he's been put up on for the last 1,976 years, and looks at him as nothing more than a man. Andrew Lloyd Weber has written some very controversial material. I LOVE HER VERSION OF THIS! CARLY IS AI to me!

I personally think she did the best this night. AWESOME! I also feel its a disgrace she was voted off this week. I think Brooke or Syesha or Jason should've been outed this week. It turned to popularity this week. Carly didn't really showcase a personality as much as others so she was ousted! AWESOME CARLY!

she had some flubs with the lyrics right towards the end of the song, but instead of wrecking it, i actually love the effect that it created. this is one of the greatest performance on idol to date! i LOVE carly!!!
