I like ford AND fiat, ford has really made a great comeback. In all honesty I SHOULD buy a fiesta but I'm going with the fiat, the fiesta is fugly imo:)

@compukenny 'Fiat was crap' is quite an opinion, considering the number of 500s they sold. I could say 'Ford was crap' because of most of their 70s lineup. 'Why would anyone think its changed?' would be an equally absurd question to ask...

@Napalmdog You could say that and You would be 100% correct. I worked as an automobile mechanic during the 70's & 80's. I will attest to the fact that almost every car of that period and sold in the USA was lacking in overall quality and dependability. American car makers have gotten their ship together and now produce some of the highest quality cars available. Maybe Fiat has too. For the sake of Chrysler Corporation, I hope so.

@Napalmdog I am interested in this car to be certain. I do like the fact the engine is built in Michigan, not so hot on the fact it's assembled in the same Mexico plant that built the K Car. But surely they aren't using the same tooling to build it...

Why do the brilliant minds at Fiat think Americans will buy this car? This will become a novelty ride in the US market like the Mini. The mpg is not so spectacular and it seems to confining. America does not really want small cars they want fuel efficient mid size cars. You can do much better with a Volkswagon golf or rabbit. Even with rising fuel prices I don't think people will turn to this car as Fiat expects. This is a technological breakthrough in a gas engine?

yes america needs more eroupean styled cars. i am sick of the shit box, bland no style cars that american car companies pump out. i think the prcie of the 500 is a little steep. $15,000 for a base model and close to 18,000 for a mild optioned sport.
