great video,,,,the roundhouse is still there and gated,,, bald river falls is nearby, another natural wonder...the roundhouse has been messed up by local teens, spray painted stuff all over it, broken things, etc. best locked up to preserve it, thet tellico iron works was there at the spot, during the civil war, it was burned down by sherman's guys , it was one of the biggest cannon ball mfg for the south at the time
The water fall is acutally listed at Fall Branch Falls 130 feet, not to be confused with Falls Branch Fall nearby. It is a multi-fall located on the south side of the pond at the end of the lane. It may be dry in the dry times. If you do a google search for Tennessee Landforms and click on the Monroe county on the map you can see pictures and GPS for many falls in the area.
If you can ever walk all the way to the back of the lake their is a 100 foot waterfall in the woods feeding the lake. It is on privite property now though.
This used to be a powder mill. The concrete block on the hill were part of the manufactuing. I did hear that after the mill closed someone bought the land and tried to turn it into apartments, but I don't know if it actually happened. Small quarters if each floor was an apartment. Charles Hall in tellico plains has pictures when it was in operation of a mill.
Do you know what the concrete walls back behind the round house are? Oh by the way, I went here! How did you go up the spiral stairs? I wanted to so bad! Was the round house actually a bed and breakfast and did your dad actually live there??
