  • unions care more about politics than thier own people or the people out there

  • I've read in soviet union under communism if you got kicked out of the unions you were forbidden from being employed. You were made a beggar by force of law. It could be used to keep people in line and do what they're told.

  • King James Bible (Zondervan publishing michigan)

    Galatians 5:2

  • If unions are so wonderful , why do they need rules forcing people to join and to pay unions dues?

  • These women are true representatives of what good nurses and good people are.

  • I've got news for the SEIU

    R.eal N.urses don't wear purple!

  • I have heard a lot of p people in Wisconsin spouting about their rights of "collective bargaining". Wake up people! Rights are an individual expression, freedoms guaranteed to people at the most organic level. The power of the sovereign embodied in all individuals. Corporations, Military, Government Workers, Politicians, etc.,can on make "group expressions" from privilege, not rights.

  • @Nicmart -- 1) I was the Shop Steward; it was kinda my job... 2) I honestly believed he would take the hint (O, dopey me!)... and 3) At the time I was more liberal than I am now; I had not been on my own, or under my own power, for very long - and really believed that the union was a good thing (until it screwed me the dryest when I needed them the most).

  • Nobody should be compelled to join, or to pay dues to a union. It’s no difference, morally, than being forced to support a church.

  • @nicmart these present day labor unions almost reflect some sort of a religious cult. The rank and file is supposed to be the yes men and yes women of some crooked zealot that is never short of cheesy slogans they teach the congrugation to shout. The rank and file of the union is expected to blindly and obediently follow what ever the union boss commands much like some denominations and some churches expect of their congrugation. "Join us or you will suffer in eternity!" lol.

  • UNION PRIDE!!No respect for rats or their sob stories.

  • @brainfart -- The other union refused to help me when I - as shop steward - was required to defend a brother who was constantly sleeping on shift. I had covered for this guy several times, but when the foreman caught him, I was unable to shield him from a write up. The union started crapping on me, and refused to represent me when I needed help.

I paid my dues, BF; I had earned their representation, and they let me twist in the wind.

    So much for your union...

  • @LordFruitloop

Why did you cover up for a good-for-nothing worker who was effectively stealing from his employer?

  • @brainfart -- Further, I have belonged to two unions - Carpenters' and SUP - and was left to hang after paying my dues as I was required. In the SUP, several brothers with C cards (low seniority) waited nine months - at $100 a quarter - for ships that never came because union-boosted wages forced shipping under foreign flags that cost less. Worse, when a ship finally did come in, an A card strolled in and tossed his new card on top of a pile of old C cards - and we all lost out.

  • @brainfart -- It is not, and never was, the purpose of unions to improve the lot of workers; the workers have always had the ability to do so through hard work, making union involvement in such matters both unnecessary and inappropriate interference. The purpose of unions has always and only been the protection of workers' interests - not promotion of them. After all, what was the reason for the establishment of unions but the protection of workers who were being exploited by corporations?

  • Sad that 'brainfart' is So Far Gone.

I would Never belong to a union.

My state is Very Business-Friendly, simply Because it is a Right-to-Work state, Thank God!

  • @3martijns

I did belong for a while but pulled out. And guess what I was called a freeloader. Imagine that. I ask for my job and I worked hard at my job and I was thankful for my job, yet the unions wanted the glory. ha ha ha. I would NEVER belong again!! Good job 3martijns.

  • @rhinestonenana Unions are a Bedrock for Communism.

Their Outrageous Pensions can Not be Paid, which causes Riots led by Commies.

Thus Martial Law, then a Dictator to Restore Order.

'Andie Sternie', head of the Violent SEIU, quotes Karlie Marxie "Workers of the World Unite". He says he Wants NWO to Spread USA Wealth Around the Globe!!

  • @3martijns

Yes the unions are controlled by thugs. That is why they love Obama. They are his Militia along with the Black Panthers and Acorn. Scary don't you think? "Heil to the unions". Wouldn't they love that!

  • Why was there a strike at the hospital?

  • One more example of why unions need to be wiped down, packed up, and put away. Like any other tool, there is a point past which use is more destructive than productive. I do not support scrapping union because of the reasons union was developed in the first place, because history repeats itself, and because people are people. just put it away until such time as it is needed again.

  • @LordFruitloop With everyday workers pay being stagnant at best and in more cases declining when would be a good time for more workers to have union representation? Unions aren't some object or thing, they are groups of people. If you're a union member and you don't like the way something is going you attend your meetings and try to change the situation. If you're a non union worker and you don't like the way you're being treated by your employer, tough luck! You have no recourse.

  • Gone are the days that people get into the medical field to help people, to nurture. It is a business now. How sad is that? As a retired Resp. Therapist, (forced to retire early), I was actually fired for trying to protect my patient from an unnecessary invasive diagnostic test. The hosp is in business to "make money". I cost them that test. Time for all who care to stand up for rights of themselves and their pts against corporations! U Couldn't pay me enough to go back now. Politics, ugh!

  • @Savedbytheblood100

I too worked at a hospital and it had the seiu union. A bunch of useless ticks that will stop at nothing to get what they want. We also had lower salaries than elsewhere. And the union actually hurt employee because once hired if you wanted to better yourself, you had to bid on a job. You might be the best qualified for the job, but someone else with more seniority gets it. And if you are not union they will not fight for you. And to stop work at a hospital is not moral.

  • @rhinestonenana And business won't stop at nothing to get what it wants? Cheap labor that destroys our standard of living, and tax base, while making the rich richer. Who says you're the best qualified? Why should a union fight for a non union member who cares nothing for the union? It takes two sides to stop work at a hospital or anywhere. It's also immoral for a hospital to turn someone in need of medical help away because they don't have insurance, but it happens all the time.

  • @brainfart101 Hey brainfart, the purpose of the unions is to " protect the lazy butts". With the union, qualificiations mean nothing. I was cheated from a position because I put in a LATE bid because my floor shut down and everyone was out. The manager of the floor called me at home and told me to put in the bid. Then human resources called and said I had the job. But someone with more senority had put in a bid. And even though they had a position and I didn't she won with the union.

  • @brainfart101

Anyone can get life saving treating from an ER. If a person can pay they get treatment also even without insurance. It is people like you who want to rule everyone and everything. Slogan for the union......"Give us your dues and we will make you think we are working for you". I don't know where our union dues went, but our wages didn't increase accordingly. I saw from experience that the union people were bullies.!!!

  • I am an RN, and believe that if those relationships were fractured, it means that some nurses put Union Crap Ahead of Friendship, so that is No Friendship.

I would Resign, and Never Again join a union.

Unions are Very Leftist, and are turning the USA into More of a Communist country.

Andy Stern of SEIU is on video saying "Workers of the World Unite - it is Not just a slogan anymore - it is the Way we do Business"!

That statement puts him as a direct Follower of Karl Marx!!

  • @3martijns

Kudos to those two women!! Awesome integrity! I wish all of them would stand up for what is right!!!

  • @3martijns The same could be said about these two, they evidently were willing to put business (not patients) before their coworkers and even themselves, you're right that's not a friendship.

If you are a union member, why are you?

Unions are groups of people wanting to get their fair cut of the pie. Unfortunately groups like "Right To Work" (for nothing) have so many snowed over it isn't funny.

Karl Marx was right about capitalism destroying itself, that's what we're seeing now.
