Now, the problem comes when people think that BYOB speaks out against the former as well as (or, worse, instead of) the latter. I repeat: In my opinion, Serj and Daron are much like Daron's own portrayal of Charles Manson. They're horrible people, but they have some good ideas and I don't see why some people hate them more than they hated George Bush. (Not saying I agree with Daron about Manson, though. :P)

What makes you think that the war in Afghanistan is a war for oil? Is it because the liberal, biased media tells you that it is? Last time I checked the U.S. doesn't buy oil from Afghanistan. I don't even think Afghanistan exports anything other than opium products, and our government certainly isn't buying that.

I am in an upper class family, and I am enlisting to fullfill my dream to become US Army Special Forces (Green Beret or Ranger). It is my obligation and duty as an American to do this, at the expense of my life or not. I don't give a flying shit about the polotics behind this shit, so long as other troops are out on the fuckin field in danger, I should be too.

You need to do everyone a favor and stay as far away as possible from the military, and Special Forces in specific.

Then again, with an attitude and mentality like that you wouldn't even get into SF or make it much further then the first four hours.

Im sorry, but war is one of the most terrible things that has ever plagued mankind. That you can be insensitive to the fact that people die every day for, to say the least, our protection, is beyond me. I think that anti war is the best 'anti' anything in the world. That, and it is their right and choice to be anti-war. They choose to take a negative stand (and to question why we wage wars). You have no right to berate them for something they are 100% true about.

I've always hated that song due to the fact that one line is an ignorant utterance without thought! It's a "volunteer" army so rich or poor no one is forced. SOAD sucks and their politics also do also! Fuck them is right! No courage to do it themselves, but taken for granted all who previously fought for our freedom and those all those who will! But do poor people have a choice ?? The system is so fucked up that they don't have any chance of improving their life. They don't have the money to go to college, they don't have the opportunity to go to proper schools, they can't even afford nutritious food. The only thing they can do is go to the military, that's the only way for them to improve their lives. That is why most recruits come from poor to lower mid class families (Source - Neilsen defence manpower data center, 2004).
