certainly some interesting and mixed comments on this one.. after watching the programme on guiness this evening i feel it is somewhat of a different direction for the brand and doesnt represent the historic backround of the modified porter refreshment.. in response to 1800suicide, i think the reason why american beer manufacturers dont make as good adverts is because they do not make enough money due to poor product sales in the US. I wouldnt dare suggest that americans cant drink

guiness is a very popular drink among jamaicans, #1. #2 alcohol adverts are a no-no before certain times of the day. my guess is the companies spend their money finding other mediums to use for advertising.

true, i think you have made some insightful remarks. the cultural niche market, bound up in the production and consumption guinness is, afterall world renowned. sports events and stadia heavily advertise alcohol but i agree with d30few: the watershed and the inability to advertise at certain times prevent companies from advertising. What do y'all think?
