I'm a freshman in High School and, while I can't write in cursive, I have an expansive knowledge of biology and frequently discuss theoretical physics with my friend. Anyway, I nonetheless agree that each generation seems to progressing towards some kind of unified idiocy. I stand out from the crowd for preaching this to the lemmings, but they just throw pencils at me. Honestly, I'm surrounded by superficial, vapid wastes of space. @WomenWillNever Learned to in fourth grade, never used it and forgot how to. Besides, it's not the most useful thing I've learned. I feel that being able to write in a readable fashion is what matters, cursive or print. And I think it's better to be able to write one way in two languages than to write two ways in one. My grammar isn't as good in German as it is is English, but I'm still working on it. Ich bin nur teilen meine Meinung, and everyone's entitled to their own.

I feel that being able to write is what matters, not how fancily you can write it. I'm sorry if you misinterpreted that as "I can speak German. I can really see both sides of this issue, as a lot of people seem to be lacking in the common sense department according to my strictly non scientific method of looking the f around. However, a part of me recalls that the average person between eighteen and twenty routinely does things, especially with technology, that causes people a generation or two above them to either piss their pants in terror or have a confusion fueled stroke in the mere contemplation.

It seems like each generation is more stupid then the last, yet smarter in a different way some kind of trade off perhaps. It's sad to say that so many don't know about classical music or penmanship, yet there is still hope that something good will come of it all. As far as sissyfication goes, no argument from me, I got in a lot of fights and learned how to handle a gun a a young age and that alone seems to "scare" people when it shouldn't, I'd view it almost as a necessity of childhood.
