I personally prefer the carousel-type changer which was originated by P&W/Fanuc back in the early 80s. Random tool change is faster on a carousel than on a chain-type system like this. And it is easier to set up tools with a carousel type changer.
@xeverythingmetalx thats why when i use to program i would run everything at 25% the first time. once the program would run perfect then i would put everything back to 100%

It may be fast but their is no ridgtity as compared to say makino s33. Also you can hear the tool vibrate. I need buy a machining center in the next two weeks and actually consider this machine for small aluminum parts.
I worked for Yamazen for many years, so I have watched the Brother line evolve over time. More Machine Tool Builders are going to a 30 spindle for many reasons. I can recall back in the 1990's only a few tool companies could supply a BT30 holder. Now they are everywhere. Rigidity is also a relative issue. Do you have to process differently? Of course, Nikken produces a BT 30 Dream Holder, which has built in vibration dampening design, much like a De-Vibe boring bar. I own a Brother now, BTW...
Great video, YamazenCNC is showing some good ones just like this. I don't know why more people don't have brother. These machines are not that expensive and they make parts fast!!!!!!!
we have 3 of these at our shop. Great machines but a bit fragile. They don't survive crashes like the Moris or Matsuuras can. Don't crash them and you'll be fine!
Sådan er det!!!!

Well gee Mr. Private Eye, nice observation, but you're wrong. The video is NOT sped up.
Some of you fuckin' douchebags really deserve to die.
JTMarlin8 2 years ago
Well if this vid isnt speeded up then that is incredible, you dont get much time to react if something is going wrong though.

I'm not really a fan of these machines, but I can tell you the video is NOT sped up.
It's nice they're fast, but that's not all to a machining center of course.

I would hate to see someone put a bad offset into one of these things... The spindle would end up in somebody's windshield out in the parking lot LOL

Yes probably :-)

pretty fast! I work on a Brother Machine 2. TC32B, and ya preinspection of the program with reduced rapid feed is just essential!

Die Geschwindigkeit ist ja heftig!
Was für eine Span-zu-Span Zeit ist bei der Maschine angegeben?

A lot faster than the other "fast tool changes" on You Tube

Great video, I find it interesting that other demo videos edit their tool changes. Thanks for showing and not just telling 2.1 sec chip to chip.

@pflipsenta and the bt30 shafts aren't very stable. Stainless steel is not very good to make in this machine. Great for small aluminium parts!
