What I meant is that Fernanda y Guillermo featured in the 2006 Taipei Tango Festival and their performance is in the DVD, although not in this promotional video. Sorry for the inconvenience! My apologies.
Technique is not the goal of tango or anything else. Technique is the tool that allows musical expression. And in tango it is the couple that should expresses the music and dance. The dancers' technique and embellishments should complement each other. We've all seen one dancer show off his/her technique, but the couple doesn't look so good. These two are superb together....but I still like the dances with Geraldine better. Perhaps the mood is closer to social dancing, more personality.
I think it depends on what occasion in which people dance. In a crowded dance floor, maybe the technique of fantastic movements is not the point. As to a performance, however, I think good technique can enhance the expression of music.
I think Andrea's movements are very elegant and her feet very fast..On my opinion each dancer choses a style and something on what concentrate the body's movements.I find a particular attentiontion on feet's movement in the Andrea's style and I think that is a matter of choise.
you haven't a clue about technique!!!Andrea's technique is impeccable. She is a fine, elegant and most aware I have ever met. Do you homework!!! fabiana
yes ı have a lot of clue about her technique. her legs and foot not too fast. maybe fast but not fast and smooth. boleos are not good than geraldine or a lot of names. my english is not enough to explain her some kind of movement's bad technique. they are my opinions. ı watch a lot of tango dancers, take lessons and ı search in the internet of their videos. ı m sorry but how do yu know about her very good technique? this is not a bad question ı want to learn your opinion.
I know her personally because for several years I took her classes. I appreciate it's your opinion. I have a dance background since I studied ballet for 13 yrs plus...and am very fussy about technique. She is an amazing teacher.I think it's unfair to compare her with Geraldine. Different bodies and dance experience! Thank you for replying anyway.
ı have a ballet background too since ı am 6. now ı am 23 years old. and ı take arjantin tango lessons from sebastian fabian damian estaban geraldine and their partners...in 6 years. my opinions are not unfairness. maybe you are right maybe ı am right thank you for share your opinions.
we are both entitled to our personal opinion! We all have our own preferences I guess.I agree she is not always fast but fast doesn't necessarily mean good technique. I am glad to hear you are a dancer too. Nothing is wrong or right it's our perception that creates the opinion. Good tango!!!
As a woman dancer, if you are controlling your boleo, you are doing boleo but not feeling. So, andrea and geraldine have learned to dance tango in the BsAs milongas. They danced with milongueors. Their feet and legs are like leaves. Because of that they are doing good boleos. The first important think is to be natural when dancing tango. Especially in social dancing, nobady leads you very very high boloes. But you are doing high. Because your not feeling the righ momemnt of the music.
fernanda and guillermo are not in this video...why put their name?

Without the technique, the dancers simply can NOT express the music and dance. So the technique is also a PART of goal.
