@hangman6565 It's red because the technology to use a full colour LED display at that time was far too expensive and LCD didn't offer the clarity needed. Have you ever actually used a Virtual Boy, other than watching videos like this? The lack of colour aside, they're actually *really* good. Apart from the headaches.
@SteveBenway thanks for sharing this, i was what 7 when i got this for my birthday, and wow havnt even thought about this for many years, thansk for sharing some of our childhood memories
@adripin1 Try playing a 3D game through a non 3D viewfinder while doing live commentary at the same time and see how well you do. In the meantime, go learn some manners. You stink at commenting in a civilised manner.
its just like looking at a tv really close IT HURTS YOUR EYES this is the same think as the tv but it wasen't to bad it had good games like mario tenis even thore it will cuse blindnes thay were ok i geuss
You might like Brotherhood of Leet on my youtube channel - a re-imagining of WW2 dramas like Band of Brothers as if they were set during the 8 bit wars of the 1980s where Nintendo and Sega are waring nations.
If you can get one in good condition for a sensible price and aren't concerned with having a huge catalogue of games for it... then yes, it's most definitely worth getting one.
They're absolutely unique, and there's no other system out there that offers the same experience.
@tupac4life84 absolutely. I owned one when i was 8. I had to leave home in my early teams and had to pack light and this is one of those posessions I miss the most. this bad boy was the shit!
Not really, many VB games have a brightness adjustment. You set the brightness, and off you go.
When you think about it, this was a big improvement over the Original Gameboy where you had to sit in front of the sun to view the screen.
Because of how easy it was to play more expensive portables like Sega Game Gear and Virtual Boy, I have never understood the hype that there was with the black and white Gameboy. There weren't even good AC adapters to buy for the little monkey, lolz.
@mjmorpheus If you have epilepse, if not then you're fine. Assuming it isn't rediculously bright in it. Nothing can hurt your eyes, moreover your lens, other than physical damage, defect present at birth, or unalignment due to aging.
Even though the design is flawed, the problems could probably have been overcome with further development, and even now, there really is nothing else that delivers an experience like it.
I still own one of those, yes,Mario Tennis is an awsome game, only problem is i never win! Many ppl dont know about this system, but i thought it was quite revolutionary:)

I hope they make a Mario Tennis for the 3ds.
If they did, that would add up to...3 games I'd play on the 3ds (if Rosalina is in any game on the 3ds)

i ment showing how the virtual boy works by having someone video tape u actually playing da virtual boy(if u have it)
CALCLAN1234 3 years ago
Ah, I see what you mean. Sorry, no, I don't have a video of that.
SteveBenway 3 years ago
Do u have i vid of just u playing the virtual Boy
i want to see it in person(vid in dis case)
CALCLAN1234 3 years ago
Er... what?
I don't know what you mean.
This is just me playing the virtual boy. Or do you mean a video of me playing it without talking? If that's what you're asking, then no, I don't.

It's a shame this system didn't sell well. The graphics are amazing for it's time.
