And if you really have to, why do you change the harmony in bar 11, switch to 4/8 measure instead of 3/8 in a couple of bars in the third section, and slow down unrhythmically for some difficult passages? Sounds like you didn't even get the piece right ...

I am afraid most people with sound musical taste will agree with me. But good taste can neither be explained nor taught (you have it or you don't), and that's not the issue anyway. He could get away with it if it was excellently done. But the mistakes he makes with the piece are really childish, and that's where my patience was over. If you have to do it, do it right. (He obviously intended to play the piece literally; deviations are neither on purpose nor do they make sense.)
