i just bought a cheap upright freezer off flea bay put a 60lt water but in it, driled 2 hole in the freezer lid for in/out water it keeps my water/light tube ice cold all the time , the water pumps round so fast it stays at near freezing point all the time, it`s only runnning 1 600watt hps, lower to the 12 plants i got growing. why bother with a chiller/ice maker or heat exchanger, just get an old freezer....simple

are you using a water chiller? if not does it remove a lot a heat away without it?
