wow thanks for the vid. i was lookin for a way to make a better seal on my doors and this just solved it. funny thing is i was just youtubing and came across this. again thanks
Thanks Again for yet another tip - did this Mod today. Installed the leveling kit last weekend and have a nice set of Bilstein 5100's on the way. Really appreciate your documentation and videos! - Chris
@snyken1 You can find it many places. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. If you search online you can find the tubing half the price. Try Amazon, Leisure Pro, etc. Search for 3/8th inch outer diameter with 1/16th inch wall thickness.
so this would stop my wind noise in my 02 gmc envoy, would rubber fuel line do the same job? i ask because i work in a garage and have easy access to this
@impalaman955 This would work on all types of door seals. Heck, do it on your screen door. Anything that just needs a little extra support. I'm not sure how fuel line hose would work though. That's pretty rigid. A door seal does need to flex quite a bit to work and if you use a hard hose inside, it may interfere with the door's regular operation.
@unkydon - 3/8 inch outer diameter tubing. It's the most common size. Any yes, it will help your Excursion. I had a 99 Expedition and a 2000 Excursion that received this mod. Don't forget to do the back doors on the Excursion also.

I have a 2011 f150 with wind noise coming from my drives side doors. I may have to try this.

What type of Lubricant did you use?

@docsol01 It was a generic silicone spray. Worked great.

What thickness tubing did you use? There seems to be several sizes online to order.

@jaycarp02 The tubing I used had 1/16th inch thick walls. Any thicker and the tubing is too stiff.

What size is the tubing? Great job. Should fix my Excursion problems as well.
