@Senshiboi99 I actually agree with you . . .to a point. Homecoming and Downpour are a little more action-oriented and the scares in those 2 games are more rapid-fire. SH3 has a Hitchcockian-buildup of suspense, which a lot of american horror films and survival horror games could benefit from.

@Pr3sidentCart3r Sometime around the 1600s, the colonists of Silent Hill founded the small town based on a cult. The cult would seek rewards from their gods through sacrifice and misery. So many years later, the town flourished if only slightly, but then fell victim to the industrial ages, seeking profit from the coal deposits all around the town, they accidentally started an underground fire, and the town was deserted. Many people have been "called" to the town since then.

@DrinkPAB have you played origins? that's not really what happened, they tried to summon their demon god once by burning alessa? i believe? the trucker saves her before it can finish, he then helps her gather the satanic like objects that allow her to spread her evil throughout the town, thus why otherworld is so widespread in the games
