  • I can not wait until February 29th when for I get to grace my life with Radiohead live. I've been listening to them since creep was released when I was 17. I still listen everyday. My life will almost be complete that day. Can't f^%$ing wait

  • The basement videos audio is so awesome sounding. The melding of all the sounds.

  • The intro is the same intro as the one heard on The Power Puff Girls Theme song 0_0

  • Don't compare Radiohead to any band. Because Radiohead makes music like no-one else. And that's how it is and hoe it should stay.

  • Coldplay? That band just makes pop hits, that's why their more popular than Radiohead, nothing intelligent ever comes from their music, just huge pop hits..

  • durrrrr Coldplays mainstream durrrrrr

  • radioheads got soul

  • I will not be missing radiohead if they tour around where I currently reside

  • We are so lucky that they let vh1 record this amazing footage!!

  • /watch?v=5XdE0B9kqp8 HD version

  • Can backing vocals be any more atmospheric than this?

  • Coldplay dont have the intelligence musically to be anything other than mainstream. & yes I am a hipster.

  • @metalfacedoom77 "you're not a hipster if you call yourself a hipster" - hipster god

  • @imranomarr hahaha i agree.. i been called it face to face a few times, i was just saving anyone the time if they wanted to insult me with that...

  • radiohead's cool. coldplays cool. you guys are all douchebags. it's just music, for fucks sake.

  • Every time someone dislikes a Radiohead song or video or whatever, a unicorn dies

  • best experimental band to be indroduced in mainstream crap industry

  • Snowflake option makes this even sexier :]

  • I'm sorry.. Who brought up Coldplay? What could Coldplay have to do with this song? Also, the guy that left that comment took the spot of my top comment (which was a good comment [my comment, that is]).

  • @musterdsandwich YES, WAAAH.

  • Any object related or near Radiohead suddenly becomes gold.

When together they "do music" it melts and it gives us the incredible feeling felt by our ears.

  • Wait nvm lol thought you were talking about radiohead

  • Holy fuck yes they are unique! Are you kidding me???

  • Anyone know how they got that effect at 4.43, panned to the left.

It looks like Ed's doing it somehow but it doesn't really sound like a guitar.

Awesome performance, love to hear more.

Never let down with "from the basement" audio.

  • at three minutes and forty seconds it all gets a little darker. Oh i love.

  • this is elevator music on the stairway to heaven. thank you for existing, radiohead.

  • yes their sound s really depressin but anyhow, it makes me feel good.

  • can i find a dvd of this live?

  • when people dislike Radiohead, I don't know, it just sort of feels right...

  • this is beauty

  • Selway is a pimp!

  • Comment removed

  • Absolutely one of the finest songs EVER!!!

  • anyone know if these vids are available on dvd or in HD somewhere?

  • As insulting as this probably is to Ed O'Brien I think one of his greatest musical contributions to Radiohead is simply the backing vocals for this song. Beautiful.

  • This song helped me to follow my feelings, I'm leaving home now, looking for my own peace of mind

  • It's amazing to know how much the music changed in this years, Radiohead changed too in its sound but I Still have eargasms so I don't care, Long live Radiohead :)

  • thank you....

  • I would like to hear this song without the drums.. Imagine it would be pretty epic

  • @TheLordHodne lolwut?! The drums are epic, they arent showy, but they gives the song the drive that makes the whole song climb so awesomely, and the move from the high-hat to the cymbal at 2:23 is the most epic bit of the song.

  • @cpreston5

He didn't say it'd be better, just epic. I think it could be really interesting and different

  • Does anyone knows what kind of mic is he using?

  • @NIDEVAINAS re20 i believe. it is usually used for kick drums but thom has a different voice.

  • @wakenflac : Thks

  • beyond

  • 240p... we meet again!

  • @maccoli if every 240p video had this music quality, youtube would be a more happier place.

  • @aceleraemataavelha no doubt...

  • @maccoli OLD!

  • Beautiful

  • me transporta su musica

  • your eyes :'/

  • Coldplay should take some fucking lessons from this band....Fucking mainstream marionettes...Radiohead thank you for making my life beautiful

  • @Gilmour3 funny how coldplay has gotten worse and radiohead has gotten infinitely better lol. At least in my eyes

  • @Gilmour3 There's no reason to hate on Coldplay... Yeah, they can't even COMPARE to Radiohead, but they're definitely unique and definitely talented.

  • @chrlee13579 they may be talented, but they are in no way unique.

  • @49coolk I guess we just have differing opinions, then.

  • @49coolk This does not compute.

  • @Gilmour3 dont hate on coldplay, we should focus the silly hate onto pop music like justin beiber

  • @Gilmour3 Radiohead is pretty mainstream... That doesn't mean they aren't awesome you hipster...

  • @CaptainObliviousful Yeah. Lotus Flowers, Idioteque, Everything in Its Right Place... very mainstream music. Except popular and mainstream aren't the same thing. There is nothing very mainstream about Radiohead's approach to music.

  • @Gilmour3 both bands are amazing, so stfu hater hipster

  • @Gilmour3 chris martin lists radiohead as one coldplays top influences. coldplay tried to be radiohead. and ya Mylo Xylo is a embarresment to coldplay. they sold out. but up until then coldplay was taking lessons from radiohead you dumbfuck, thats what they wanted to be

  • @Gilmour3 Too bad coldplay isn't mainstream.

  • @SCvaul doesn't get much more mainstream than coldplay

  • @Gilmour3 They are completely different bands. While it's obvious Coldplay is heavily influenced by Radiohead (listen to the song 42), this comparison is so fucking stupid it makes you sound like a child. I happen to like both bands for what they are.

  • holy christ this shit is good!!!

  • i always thought thom did the backing vocals on this song

  • Love it!

  • i like this performance, but my favorite sound in this song is not replicated in the live version. all i can explain it as is like a mini explosion of sound, followed by whats seems to be finger-picking on a guitar. i think it might simply be guitar chord but im not sure. if anyone could tell me what made that sound that would be amazing. its occurs at 4:03 on the album version of this song if anyone is interested.

  • @stereodumpling From what I can hear you are mostly correct. It is a guitar chord with what sounds like finger picking, but the trick to the sound is a delay unit with a relatively high amount of feedback. Google "Delay (audio effect)" if you need more info on this type of device.

  • @stereodumpling i know exactly what you are talking about. i'm pretty sure it's a computer/synth-altered sample of a guitar -- similar sounds are played in 15 step in the from the basement session -- ed gets down and plays a sample board. i like to make samples and new timbres with my synth and by altering recordings, etc without affecting pitch -- radiohead does this all the time with such amazing accuracy. they always have unique sounds nobody else uses. this is why they are the best

  • @stereodumpling you actually can hear a similar sound in this recording around 4:03 -- its' hard to see because he's behind thom's head, but colin hits a button on that synth he's standing behind to trigger the sample..

  • anyone know what pedal Jonny uses in this song?

  • It's sad to see mainstream music as superficial as lady gaga, blink, eminem, and then listen to Radiohead.

  • @bluegreedo Then at that point, who cares about mainstream music :)

  • @FloydIV It's all over the radio, TV...I just hate seeing the shallow mainstream all over.

  • What mic is that?

  • @jackbaz1 Electro Voice RE-20

  • This song's so amazing I wanna scream.

  • thom yorke looks high as shit.

  • jonny

  • Phil Selway is a godly drummer

  • the best music and lyrics of radiohead, in my personal opinion.

  • @lennoth Took me some three years to get to know this album, but yes, of all the greatness this is the best

  • F U C K I N G - E P I C

  • ed's belting in the background always gives me goosebumps. It is so necessary.

  • y do jonny and ed always stand next to eachother at the begining of this song?

  • @nigelchitownking i would imagine to get their arpeggios in synch, but dont quote me on it

  • :)

  • The best song ever. I can't imagine how someone could top that. But if someone will, I bet it'll be Radiohead.

  • Congratulations to anyone reading this, you have one fucking good taste in music.

  • @Scoob505

    Cheers. Vica Versa.

  • IS THIS SESSION AVAILABLE ON DVD?

  • @bentibroadcasting iTunes Store.

  • This song is so sexy!

  • When I hear this song I feel like traveling deepest ocean

  • man, they are awsome.

  • What would this song be without ed?

  • @DocAuch22 nothing

  • So, look, I've been thinking about this, between this song, Reckoner, and Jigsaw... this song has to be the most beautiful. It's taken me many many many listens to In Rainbows, but I've finally come to that conclusion. This song is musically, lyrically and everythingically perfect in every way. It is pure undiluted art.

  • @kyletheenigma Seconded.....! I love this track! :)

  • songs are like children when you write them on your own.thom likes his children.

  • greatest song ever written be man kind

    +

greatest music ever produce by man kind

    +

greatest band ever assembled by man kind

    equals ~~~~~~~> RADIOHEAD

  • I need to get off the computer but I can't stop listening.

  • 240p doesn't do this justice...

  • I would not compare TKOL to IR.Different albums, different stages of their life

  • While I do hope that they do have big success in the future, I hate that everybody is expecting them to make better and better music. The band became so reclusive because of this same problem. They've made eight freaking awesome albums, and have done their job. I don't think we should ask anything of the band other than to keep rocking and doing their thing. And before anybody gets angry at me for being ignorant, I'm 16.. So in the words of Paul Simon, "I'm just a little kid, you can't yell!"

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz

I agree with you, nice one i wish i thought like you at 16 i was a punk rocker then and my music was a lot different but as ive grown so has my taste in music.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz Dude, that wasn't ignorant. That was true. If the last 8 records have been amazing, then why won't they do it again? Answer? The will make another amazing one. Hats off to you, my friend.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz you are exactly right. why would you expect more from a band that has already made the best. it's not possible to make better music than this.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz yeah i agree they have done enough, but think about it. if mozart was alive would you tell him, nah don't compose anything else you've made enough. no way! i hope radiohead makes as much music as they possibly can! you only get one life you know.

  • @TheLongestMile True, but how many awesome bands ended up doing crappy music? Ofc Radiohead isnt and it wont be the case, but i think that every band should split or retire while theyre still doing good music. Everyone should know when to say 'enough' and quit.

  • @vazkopl ha i suppose your correct. I certainly don't want to push them to their limits. I just suppose i have confidence that radiohead could still be composing brilliant pieces when they are around 80 haha.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz These people are in their prime...

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz god knowing your age makes your comment SO much more effective on my soul.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz It's true. I was really let down by TKOL, but I realize now that I just expect TOO much from them.

  • @nuclearpizzaguyz what a fantastic comment - you are wise and true

  • my all time favourite!

  • The King Of Limbs is kind of heart-breaking evidence that Radiohead is never going to top this.

  • @kyletheenigma I think they will be back. The King of Limbs is just a blip, like Amnesiac. They will be back my friend and stronger than ever

  • @TheLastBaron16 WTF, King of Limbs and Amnesiac are both masterpieces!

  • @RockBottomRiser21 Nah man. I love Radiohead, They're one of my favourite bands, but I think people don't want to admit The King of Limbs isn't a good album. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece either. It has no songs like "Reckoner", "All I Need" or this song. It has it's moments but by Radiohead's standards, it's a poor album

  • @TheLastBaron16 actually, bloom is a really good song and i personally think codex is one of the greatest songs theyve written to date. otherwise, its a medium album.

  • @streetlight482 I agree with you there. Bloom and Codex are my 2 favourites too along with Lotus Flower of course. But the rest just feel like fillers. On In Rainbows, every track was brilliant

  • @TheLastBaron16 I agree.

  • @TheLastBaron16 I still haven't really given 'King of Limbs' a chance yet...... where as In Rainbows blew me away with the first listen.... I'll give it a proper listen when I'm ready.

  • @RockBottomRiser21 You're absolutely right - two unfairly underrated masterpieces! "Bloom" and "Give Up the Ghost" strike me as two of their most beautiful and original creations yet...

  • @parkera91 what do you mean, underrated? what ratings are you looking at?

  • @RockBottomRiser21 Eh, while I do love Amnesiac, and can agree that is is a masterpiece even if everyone doesn't get it - King of Limbs... just no. Maybe it will grow on me (Hail to the Thief took a while too) but it's definitely not their best work. Luckily, 'not their best' still equals better than 98% of what else is out there.

  • @kyletheenigma not yet

  • 4:43 4:48

  • easily the best song on the album, even compared to reckoner

  • Je pourrai l'écouter des heures, des mois, des secondes tellement c'est bien foutu et beau cette chanson! bordel merde c'est joli

  • i wish i had a recording studio/practice room like that :(

  • I want their talent, they have more than their fair share :(

  • Beauty has been defined

  • suprbe, génial, du rythm du rythm

  • @megapixel89 It's definitely O' Brien, but I have no idea how he did it... :D

  • @Novelja I think that he was just using his tremolo bar.

  • Ed O'Brian is hot...

  • I don't know very much about Radiohead, but their drummer is a rock. It's refreshing to see someone that isn't flailing everywhere and dropping fills during every measure. Just a consistent, solid beat. A lot of drummers take that skill for granted, but it's a damn hard fundamental to master.

  • i love this song...it makes me feel like Im under water....

  • I love Radiohead, minus their newest album.

  • @nosalvation88 I love Radiohead, minus their oldest album.

  • I waant to have sex with thom yorke's voice

  • i want to have sex with thom yorke himself

  • @aaaaazure wow

  • @aaaaazure Me too!

  • @rotherhiteboy he does have sex hair

  • If you start a trip driving a long distance... this MUST be the first song when you start it . Positive strong energy feelings will blow your mind. This isone of the best songs to start something NEW.................

  • 17 people don't know what a soul is

  • Love Ed's backin vox in this song.

  • OMGWTFBBQ!!!!

    IS THAT A JAGSTANG!?

Oh good god, let it be a jagstang!

  • god bless every single band member in radio head. really like this song.
