  • Do you clean the pads on the mobo while it's still hot or do you let it cool completely first? I'm just wondering which method would be easier on the solder mask (it's the green coating that covers up all the copper traces for those who are curious).

  • nice man...shame to microsoft :(

  • 3:00 Are the RROD's cause the melted balls on the GPU?

  • @davidpoiu62 the RROD problem is caused by a few problems usually prolonged heat stress on the CPU/GPU caused be inadequate cooling/cleaning which causes the solder balls to crack/ merge thereby causing a short, things like the "towel trick" "xlamp fix" may remedy the problem temporarily but ultimately make the problem worse leading to permanent RROD.. this is the proper way to repair an xbox with the RROD. followed by preventative maintenence! cleaning monthly, install to HDD etc.

  • do you have to remove the old solders or can you just apply new ones on top????? plzzz reply

  • even xenon unit???

  • tooo difficult

  • Hey, I have the T-870A machine just like yours here in the U.S. and I was wondering what temperature profile you use when doing your reflow/ reweld....I need to get proper boot-up when putting GPU's back on....Thanks

  • What is the name oh your FLUX ???

  • Beautiful

  • Class workmanship..

  • what if you want to replace the GPU using a different one will that ban you from xbox live?

  • I also use the T-870A welding machine for reballing. What temperature do you recommendly for safely putting the chip back on the motherboard and how many minutes?

  • @TeamUnkownkaz no look he uses tin foil to abosrb the heat more it else were to stop that happining it can happen if not done correctly plus the solder that does melt stays in the same place cause its attracted to heat

  • doesnt this make any of the components explode or anything?because it all goes hot.

  • HOW LONG WILL THIS FIX LAST?

  • what is some good solder wick? the one from radioshack is shit lol

  • Great video, man!

May I ask the temp and airflow speed you used when seating the new leaded balls to the GPU?

  • Is it possible to fix/replace a cracked gpu?

  • @alcemj it should be, you just need another gpu

  • hi beatmaker brown my gpu came off my board is there any way you would be able to put it back on for me? i will pay and pay for postage to and from north of england :) email me nissanmicrak12@hotmail.co.uk cheers mate

  • T862A, Really?

  • is it just me, or what f..k did u do? change the cpu`? lol

  • is the 0020 always the gpu?

  • you wish Microsoft repair centre would perform this on your RROD xbox :D

  • Can anyone tell me what the tool that sucks the solder up @ 1:15 is called?

    thanks!

  • @aiwa501

    Use Solder Wick.

  • @aiwa501

    you mean the soldering tip?

  • @aiwa501 soldering wick

  • PS.. where did ya get the Jig and Heat lamp?.. in the UK?

  • Awesome. Q. Your flux chap.. what is it?. also heat of the lamp?. for how long? on the chip. Iam going to buy a T862 and a Jig. Have quite a few HP V6000 series laptops to fix. Already have Hot airgun and use it for reflow work. But the BGA reballer is just so sexy.

  • this is unbelievable...

    /watch?v=47-5Baix0Fw

  • how much does all the equipment cost?? btw LOVE this vid this is a REAL fix

  • can i do it without the special workstation

  • @JORGIE889 No.

  • Can you do Nvidia GPU's? How much would you charge if I sent you a 2007 2.4ghz Macbook Pro logic board?

  • @Winobie75 What a unique XBOX 360 you have there.

  • I could've built an entire computer in the time that this was done >.>

  • I am planning to get this exact T-870A station. What heat settings did you use for the preheat and putting the chip back to the board? how long was it heated for there and how long was it heated for when placing the chip back?

Thanks, I'll be more than happy to make a donation for any help.

  • This video should put Micro$uck Engineers to shame.

  • is this fix permanent?

  • @oriondynasty pretty much

  • This is how it's done, folks-- not that stupid heat gun trick! Leave the repairs to the professionals, they know what they're doing! But don't go to Micro$oft or $ony for repairs, because they're just going to do a cheap reflow that will break again later.

  • nice video

  • what machine do you use and when i am trying to get old solder of sometimes it seams to stick and not come up easy any suggestions

  • You do this for cash? If so, I'm looking to get this done and am willing to pay.

  • Hi, I'm having problems with my solder balls, I can't get them to set. Everytime I try to set them with the heat gun they move or don't set in the right spot. Why or how are yours falling into place? Do I need to remove the solder more in the holes? If so how?

Also, What temp iron should I use or watts?

  • that was really informative and helpful.

  • where can u buy the suction thingy and welder?

  • In Soviet Russian Xbox GPU reball itself. Thumbs up?

  • @spetsnazkommando

I want to be russian now.

  • pc gaming better watch my planned pc build vids part 1 and 2 please

  • how do you know a system needs Reballing ?

  • @anythinggoesjoe This is normally required when the system has suffered from overheating and the solder balls connecting the GPU or any other ship to the mother board has cracked (crystallised). This causes the notorious red ring of death (RRoD).

  • what did you use to remove the chip proper machine? If so could you give me the name so i can research it

  • Hi i was removing my gpu with my heat gun untill i saw all the little silver things fall off it?does this mean its fucked ?

  • @Davidduds If the transistors have come off the top yes its fucked, to avoid this GET IT DONE PRO, or just dont go as close to the GPU with the heat next time.

  • @systemofadown158 ha "yes its fucked."

  • @Davidduds the balls off the bottom?

  • Hi, great video.

if you have time can you please answer these questions.

    what are your heat settings?

does the machine gradually raise the heat?

what is the distance from the top heater to the chip? thanks

  • Sweet video! What flux do you use to reattach the balls and how do you get the balls to melt right into place so quick? Thanks in advance!

  • how do you manage to place the GPU back on the motherboard accurately?

  • @blakeyou91 x-ray contact lenses

  • @beatmakerbrown lol u see beat they always wanna know

  • @beatmakerbrown Hi, I want to know if e73 error can still be fixed through reballing? thanks

cos I had 3 red lights before, after fixing it I got the 1 red light (e73 error)

    Thank you in advance!

  • @beatmakerbrown they did say lead can make you go crazy

  • @beatmakerbrown Where can I get them? I couldnt find on clearlycontacts.ca

  • @blakeyou91

Just place it evenly as possible between the 4 white lines. When the solder balls start to melt, the chip will slide into place.

  • that shit was professional! i wish i could do that to my xbox =/

  • what is the object @ 0:50

  • @AL3X36000 A vacuum pen, it lifts chips up.

  • at 6.00 minutes what is the air level ? / 100 and the temperature of the hot air station ? I do that like you but balls go right and left and 2 of 3 balls solders betwin her... in finally big balls occured. What's the temp and air level that you use please ???

  • Duke Nukem did this to his Xbox to play Duke Nukem Forever. "I've got balls of solder," he said.

  • Whats the soldering iron i want one of those mine is a weller 25W which sucks!

  • dude never buy cheap soldering stuff ever i bought a cheap iron from hong kong thinking i was gonna be cheap and it started smoking and filled entire house with it and stunk and then burned out in 2 days spend the money if you gonna be fixing things i found out the hard way thatd suck to get so far then something goes wrong with your tools

  • Can you recommend a cheap solder station to sold the balls onto the chip, after the reballing ?

  • @Ryuuken24 dude never buy cheap soldering stuff ever i bought a cheap iron from hong kong thinking i was gonna be cheap and it started smoking and filled entire house with it and stunk and then burned out in 2 days spend the money if you gonna be fixing things i found out the hard way thatd suck to get so far then something goes wrong with your tools

  • hey im using the T-862 to repair laptop motherboards. How hot do you have to set it to be able to remove the chip from the motherboard.how do i remove the red compound that is around some chips. and finally what kind of heat gun do you use to heat the solder balls on the chip to remove or replace and how hot do you set that? are you using the aoyue? Thanks im learning!

  • those things you need to do that costs over 2000 Euro's

  • @biggiebano10 it depends you dont need all that fancy shit

  • Hi, I watched your video to see how you replace the bga on the pcb with correct allignment. Also I didnt see the final reflow process. What is your procedure?

  • This video may as well be taken down. The user comes online but never answers questions as to the cost of having it done etc. Emailed them several times now :/

  • Hi. I'm adding reballing to my list of repair and have been having a hard time resoldering the chips back on the board. What temps do you recommend for resoldering with lead? Thanks.

  • @garberjw From the video it looks like he has it set to 200C and has it going for about 30 seconds to 1 minute...BUT it could be longer.

  • Finally a video showing what REALLY needs to be done to fix the RROD.

I think all these problems started when we moved to lead-free solder (and yes, most PS3 YLOD is caused by a similar issue).

New X-Clamps and thermal paste will NOT permanently fix most Xbox RROD problems!!

Thanks for showing your great handiwork, cool stuff! - My sister's Xbox might be on it's way to you soon. How much do you charge for the repair?

    Ash.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the soldering balls?

  • @RazorSAID Go on ebay and search "reballing station with handgrip".

  • i use ACHI 6000 great vid by the way have you tryed the ps3 reball

  • Hello. What is this device on 00:49 that helps you lift the GPU ? Would be greatful for help

  • @MojZiomek i believe that's a vacuum chip holder, or something like that.

  • @MojZiomek It's a vacuum suction pen.

  • hmm I have 5 RROD 360's on a shelf, xclamp fix only goes so far. this looks proper. Might have to give this a try. I have 2 working 360's though :D

  • @Th3James listen if you are in england this is your man! permanent fix means it will last at least 5 years, the xclamp is not a fix its just to help the board stay straight

  • GJ! too bad i cant bring my xbox to you..

  • @bayobayones yes, he's based in Portsmouth drive down there and get it fixed the same day or send it by post royal mail in a box with bubble wrap.

  • Very nice video and I like the dnb :D If I ever need a rrod repair I'll be sending my console to you!

  • I love the smell of flux while burning don't u? and the alcohol on the chip

anyway beatmaker is the official UK reballer and if your xbox got 3 red lights he's the guy to sort it for you for the same price as reflow. reballing is the permanent fix, he also sorts out other issues like usbs, hdmi ports ect.. its really hard work and the video make it look all easy you have to have nerves of steal to do this!

  • i need this kind of equipment

  • THIS IS A M A ZING!

  • damn... fucking brutal music you have in the background... do you really listen to music like that? It's fucking painful.

However, your video content was fucking awesome. thanks!

  • so whats the name of the tools you used?

  • @oldschooldude2 He is using a Infrared Rework Station - T870A and a vacuum suction pen to lift the GPU up. He also uses a reballing station with handgrip with a XBOX 360 GPU stencil.

  • very good karlos xx
