  • Wow this guy is very negative on wooden recorders.

  • dang it! i just literally today ordered a wooden recorder. :/ i should've done my research first. lol

  • And then he'll leave it in his armpit for the next motherfucking hour

  • how could say you payed "31 hundreds" dollars for a recorder??? are you insane? you are a liar, no recorder cost as much as you said !! sorry but your video is useless, don't you have anything better to do?? btw, you don't even play that good as you may think you do ...

  • @danielmirea You are wrong. There are recorders out there in excess of 2500.00 - so before you make your comments do your homework. Would you buy one? Apparently not. But that's beside the point.

  • He just killed my ambition to buy a wooden recorder

  • i got a good maple recorder for 25 $

  • He talked more about the disadvantages of wood then any advantages. the best thing he said about them was that it's sound was very sweet, and that was directed to his own recorder. I think that for a child, yes plastic would be the best, but for an young adult on up, wood is the way to go. Even if you do put in a crazy amount of time into a wood recorder, it builds a bond and a love for the piece, creating something absolutely beautiful. It's a personal preference kind of thing.

  • *insert blowjob joke

  • At :21 he turns into Mantrid.

  • love listening to this guy rant on about recorders like theyre some high end, premium instrument.. yet they sell functional ones for like $5 at the grocery store... its a cheap toy

  • @megadeth22885

Are you saying that all recorders are just cheesy toys? Just because you can buy bad recorders for $5 & lots of kids play them horribly in school, doesn't make the instrument a toy. Professional musicians have been playing high quality recorders for hundreds of years. I own wood recorders & plastic ones but I prefer the plastic ones because they're almost maintenance free. The video poster is right on about everything he says but he exaggerates a tad here & there.

    Cheers

  • I got one at dollar tree.

  • So let me get this straight... I need to buy one of these recorders for $5,000, warm it up to exactly my body temperature by sticking the mouthpiece in my armpit for 45 seconds, and then blow into it for 5 minutes a day, increasing by 5 minutes until I get to 40 minutes a day but not over an hour or it will cause catastrophic meltdown? Meh I'll just buy a hundred pack of these for 8 bucks on Amazon.

  • They sell a wood recorder here for 30 bucks, I think you got ripped pretty FUCKING bad.

  • WOOD IS NATURAL, WOOD BEATS ALL. IF IT COSTS A LOT, MAKE ONE. SHOP AROUND, AND DON'T GET RIPPED OFF. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A DECENT WOODEN RECORDER FOR UNDER $300.

  • yeah, I got my recorder for $140,000 or less, but it plays rather nice

  • @highrollerzzz Where on Earth did you go? 'woodsounds(dot)com'? They'd try to rip you off for Native American flutes ranging from over $1000 to about $400 at the lowest. What BS to do that!! I'd rather make it myself!!!!!

  • @celticbattleaxe dude, I was kidding :) I was amazed by this guy in the video talking about $20,000 recorders, since I didn't know recorders can cost that much

p.s: a friend of my got me a plastic yamaha recorder for 15 bucks or so and I don't need much better one, it's not my primary( or even secondary) instrument

    cheers :)

  • @highrollerzzz Oh - oops :). I thought it was true for a second there. Go to woodsounds(dot)com to see how they rip people off just for a dang Native American flute (lowest price is $400 - I'd rather make one).

  • i got my one of a kind wooden recorder (one of a kind cuz it has custom made carvings) for 25 dollers...WITH a wooden ocarina and a wooden panflute for 25 dollers....

gramps you got ripped off xD

  • What kind of shoddy recorder do you have that you can't play it for more than 26 seconds without ruining it?

I think this is OCD, not standard recorder care.

  • Get to the point.

  • If a person wants to learn to play the violin you go to a violin instructor not a fiddle player. If you want to learn how to play the recorder then do so. If you want to learn how to play the Shakuhachi then perhaps This man may be your cup of tea.

But remember he is not teaching Recorder hes teaching Shakuhachi!

And if fact you will be learning very poor habits if playing the recorder is your objective!

Any Yamaha 300 series plastic recorder will serve you well. Pro's use them on CD's.

  • Nicely explained "Hows" and "Whys" as to Wood vs. Plastic

  • skip to 1:45 to get past the "when I was your age" talk

  • @squee222 you my friend have saved me SO mcuh time XD

  • @squee222 Thank you so much. I'm using this for information for a report and needed that...

  • so boring. i didnt finish. too much non sense talkings.

  • @kierbenz

Ya, My bullshit detector was sounding off.

  • DUDE MY SISTER GOT A WOOD FOR $5

  • The most of times wooden recorder for 5$ is a piece of shit. For beginners plastic definitely is better because of stable quality.

  • It was really good for it`s price but the. Only down side of it was the back was bent when we got :(

  • @dkfl113 He said a good one.

  • @dkfl113 where O.O i want one

  • boring

  • Why don't you shut up and play?

  • dude shut the fuck up in africa its beautiful than you fag my parents are from africa all the bitchy things you said happen in the village fuck motherfuck kiss my ass

  • i would go for some other musical instruments if a good recorder costs that much ! A good spanish guitar alhambra 9p that I got is only $2,100 :)

  • well, in my country, we have to learn music, its not an option, and you have as well to learn how to play the recorder. youll have to learn it from the 4th to the 9th grade .the soprano recorders we have to use are german, hohner, and they are plastic too. they have quite a fine sound that would rivalize with that wooden flute of yours. and you dont have to warm it up. for me, the finest recorder are not even wooden. try to play on a plastic yamaha, they are just great!

  • sorry, they are wooden, the yamaha ones but theyre not so expensive

  • I got curious: where are you from?

I got a little envious too... I wish we had to learn music in my country. lol

  • my country is Portugal :p

we also have a recorder and string orchestra in my school :p

    im in both

  • Oh, why didn't you colonizers bring this to our schools?! It would have been one good thing you'd have done for us. lol

    Have fun in your orchestras!

  • where are you from, by the way

  • my recorder cost SGD$4.50 ............

  • omg this brings bk memorys :)

  • I guess what he's saying is, the vibration eventually damages it. Yours is possibly in good shape but not tip-top.

  • How do you ruin a wooden recorder by "Overplaying it?? When I was a kid I had a wooden one that I played every day for hours at a time, never oiled it, never cleaned it, and it lasted forever.

  • obvious to last you forever its a peice of wood
