  • I bet these tards have the game abs system somewhere or at least the files someone should get the roms and release them so we can play on emulator

  • What i dont get is, even though that 3DO console was cancelled, why didnt they just stick with this idea with the Dreamcast instead of create a new idea? It doesnt make any sense.

  • Dang this game would have been great. It would have been an authentic sequel to the story of the original. D2 on Dreamcast doesn't even feel like it's related to the original D game at all.

  • I love the music. Is it part of an OST?

  • @DrilRemover Yeah this song was actually released on small disc as part of the D's Diner Directors Cut which is very, very, very rare. However, there is an updated version of it on the D2 Dreamcast soundtrack. Just listen to the Main Title for D2 dreamcast here on youtube

  • Would have been fun to see this game completed. I hate when companies make a system, and then not release it.

  • So is this running on an actual m2? Do you have one?

  • I'm pretty sure this was just an extra on the japanese version of the released D2.

There is a video of actual game play on real running M2 hardware. It looks just a tad better than N64

  • Thing is this was out when the super NES was out

  • so u gotta compare it to that

  • Oh no (awesomemecdiperson): M2 was a project to enhance the amazIng 3DO console system back in the 90's. There were trailers, games prodction, tech demos...UNFORTUNATELY the project was canceled due to SONY release of PS1. So sad, cause I really enjoyed 3DO...I still have one. And do you all know D was a game produced by a bunch (guess 4) students? With the intention to bring something new to the games? Fact is they did it, and also made some $ and success. Never heard of them anymore...

  • it is clear people. that guy is vlad tepes, also knows as dracula. you can see it from the people on spikes. that was where vlad was notorious for. this would've been an amazing setting for a d game. because vlad dracula was pretty much the most gruesome human being in history. he would be dining in front of thousands of rotting and dieing corpses that were put alive onto spikes. through their anus as the weight would slowly pull the body downwards over the spike.

  • .... well i guess i'll put away my snack now...

  • @drunkensailor112 i think you enjoyed writing that a litle too much for my liking.....yuk sick puppy ahoy!

  • @mardarchord1 I do like to sometimes tell this story in classes ;)

  • Where did you find this video?

  • Part of the Panasonic M2 version of WARP's D2 was included as a secret movie in the Dreamcast version of D2 (Japan-only). I do mean that the movie did not include the second half; the demonic entity entering the airplane and taking away the unborn child from Laura (Harris) from D.

  • this does not show what the M2 could do as far as realtime. it's no different than the FMV in PS1 games (except higher quality). this isn't M2 in realtime.

  • I'd like to see some proof of your claims, can you say you've used tested and can say just how powerful the M2 would have been if it had its time to shine [which it may never achieve, even if some fanatic goes back and buys the technology, they might not go ahead and see what it's capable of anyhow].

  • Yea, but interactive CG? I don't think we even have that now technically. And that's what this looks like it would have been if this is in game graphics, who know really. I think this could have been totally mind blowing.

  • sure we do, we've had games like strahl and time gal that are interactive anime, and games like night trap which are interactive live video. I cant think of one thats 100% cg,(im sure theres one somwhere) but it's all the same.

  • CG games are nothing, all you need is storage space and enough processor to render 24 fps, true color, and some kind of player input. Any dvd player can do this.

  • exactly.

  • I don't know, this really makes me wonder what gaming would be like if Sony hadn't paid there way into 3DO's share of the market.

The PS1 certainly could not render anything nearly this good, and all claims from 3DO stated that would be the case, perhaps in another dimension the 3DO did succeed. :(

  • I notice something strange when I watch this. It's almost seems like certain things such as the physics are actually superior to what the PS2 was able to produce, and although the characters aren't as refined as they are on the PS2, the design of the world actually appears superior, and the texture is actually what looks to be of a higher quality than the PS2, although it might be at a lower resolution.

Maybe it's just me, what do you think?

  • well like others have said, this is just prerendered CGI. any machine with a CD-ROM could play this video back. that's all that the M2 is doing, is playing a video. those are not realtime M2 graphics.

  • this would have been a great game at the time had the m2 been released

  • Where have you found it?

  • I really like Kenji Eno's games. That's a pity this version of D2 was never released

  • Having played D, Enemy Zero and D2, this version of D2 would've been awesome. I like Kenji Eno's ideas and how he creates a great atmosphere. Too bad he scrapped it. I like D2 on the Dreamcast, but this would've been great too (though I wished it was on other consoles rather then the unreleased M2)

  • This game looks like it would have been f**king awesome! But Laura dying would have sucked. I still think I would like Dreamcast D2 better than this mainly because you get to play as Laura plus the CGI and graphics on the Dreamcast were way better. Kenji Eno probably scrapped this story for a reason.

  • I agree to that eventhough that I am curious how things whould have gone if D2 and M2 both where released.

  • I agree with you...and I'm very curious to know what would have happened had this game been made. I daresay it would have been just as awsome as the first one. :)

  • I also meant to say Lara dying would have sucked major balls, hopefully that Vampire bloodline was useful in this plot (had the game progressed and became real) :)
