@sawebber888 A good parking lot to use to access the trail is on Pump House Drive off of the north end of the Westover Hills Blvd Bridge. There is a large trail map at the trail head in the parking lot. I would definitely recommend these trails. Truly amazing, great views of the city and the river; a very unique feature not found in many cities. If you google "Buttermilk Trail Richmond VA" you should be able to find a map, I was unable to successfully put a link in the comment sorry

@sawebber888 Yup, the Buttermilk and North Bank trails run along both sides of the James River right in the Richmond City limits
