Dear Do not Russian people! This - the People's cheerful Russian dance called "Quadrille"! Performed usually in boots, fur boots. Russian girls have to have long hair braided into cornrows. In Ksenia - tails. It's fun, funny and beautiful.

Ksenia is brilliant - she dances very well and the classics, pop and dance, and folk dances. Bravo, Ksenia !!!!!!!

She is dancing to the Russian Folk Dance Kadril or Quadrille. It is a humorous competitive traditional dance for couples. Also it is traditional for women to dance in red boots.

Ok, 2 all of u who can't stand this little piece that Afanasyeva just performed & can't see her having a sense of humor. I got 1 thing to tell u, BI#$& PLEASE!!! This is a GALA, you're supposed to have fun, be entertaining,but most of all.... do something ORIGINAL! I get why u might be so surprised as you watch Afanasyeva with ponytails, boots & dancing 2 that kinda music! But hey, it was all for the claps & smiles!!! Just take it for what it is... a Gala performance... not her EF FX routine!

@soberanis100 Uhm, it's not really that original. Evgenia Kanaeva performed her 2 ribbons gala to it in 2007/2008. She had her hair in pigtails and was wearing boots, too.

@soberanis100 Agree. This yound lady was born in the heart of Russia , the city of Tula, why can't she dance to the national folk song and just have fun? The fact that she 's not dramatic or classic or anything of what you used to see from her is not a proper reason to be judgmental. On top of that she's always nice to watch because she's real insideout classy person! So enjoy Ksenia's other side and take it easy, it's gala!

Oh god, don't be so boring! It's just a a humor. She's so young and don't have to be always dramatic. Just relax because you know foreigners always joking about Russia. And Ksenia let you to laught about it =)

P.S. Music is calles "Quadrille" and it's a traditional Russian dance so she just makes it fun.
