  • I have learned so much from your videos, you have helped me to understand further and made things clearer. true inspiration, look forward to hearing more from you

  • loool 'yes surprise surprise i'm a geek' best geek-line i've heard

  • why is there not more of this series? If you can present the Odinic Rites and Initiations in the true practical manner they are meant, please do. I am very interested in this and can not find similar studies on Norse or Odin mysteries. Your work is very important and keeps the gods alive.

  • Congratulations on finding your path. Academics is mostly ego, not insight or inspiration. You went the right way.

  • Shame on your teacher, I would by proud to have a student use my thesis as inspiration. Im not a teacher, just saying.

  • Wow, you look just like LadyOfTheLabyrinth! Are you related :) :)

  • @RolloOfTheNorth Hehe verry funny mister! Nei jeg er bare kusina hennes. :)=) Neida, det er meg, ja.

  • @TheOdinMysteries Hahaha, I have a very keen sense of observation :D

  • Thank you for these wonderful videos (especially because as you put it yourself, the price of your book is "a bit over the top", or at least out of the price range of a struggling artist/author like me). However, I do greatly appreciate the work you've put into this project (and listening to you speak has been much needed break from all the reading I've been doing lately, anyway :) Your passion and conviction really come through.

    Bright blessings,

    Helen

  • @hbpattskyn Thanks. There is a link on my youtube-channels to my thesis as published online through the university library, so if you are interested you can read it for free, it is almost the same as the book! :)

  • very happy to of found your video's, you have taught me much about the Edda!

  • Wonderful story and thank you for sharing it with us.

  • Wow i agree excactly on what you said about school, its such a stupid system!

  • So choosing to honor one's debt to the Lifmothir secures your future? Honor would imply rules or laws enforced by the Life Spark and the Law Giver governing the structure of the energy that is the universe and the behavior or path chosen by the living mind. Debt could be the return of energy to its primordial state. How do you translate Einherjer if not "Single Harrier" (Hawk/Falcon) also symbol of Horus son of Isis/Hathor (Lifmodir/Freyja) and Osiris? Identifying Osiris with Odinn is debatable.

  • @CelticValdyr Hi! I just have to say that I do not identify Osiris with Odinn, I compare their functions and find certain important similarities that may shed light on each of them. I translate einheri literally as one-ruler. From "ein"="one" and "heri"=ruler (harrier). Single harrier is a good understanding, but I think it can mean to rule one - oneself. Or be ones own ruler. In the Eddas, going to Valhalla requires more effort than to die in battle, it requires initiation.

  • You are a fresh wind, scattering stale thought. Your translation leading to Hall of Choice vice Hall of Chosen is indeed controversial as only freemen, from what I read in the sagas and Eddas, ever attain such glory by heroic feats on the field of battle. This too could be metaphor, and true...in the end, it is the warrior's choice to act with honor and bravery in the face of destruction in order to gain entry to the hall in the first place. Yet it is Skuld (debt) that selects who gets a ride.

  • Did you say Neil Gaiman? LOL. Looks like birds of the feather flock together...

  • Thank you very much for sharing!

  • Congratulations, and i think you would have made a very good professor, That just sounds funny to me that they would mark you for having a more accurate translation but goes to show how narrow minded they are.

  • Hei hei HEI Lady! If you had become a PH.D and a professor, how would people like me ever have been able to find you? One door closes, another opens, and I think in the long run you will reach many more that can benefit from your knowledge this way.

    Wassail.

    werwulf.

  • @werwulf222 Exactly! To be a scientist in our world today is a matter of working within a paradigm of understanding, and it takes a lot of effort to change that paradigm, usually decades. I dont have time for that. The wonderful thing about modern society it is that there are other avenues and that the mead of knowledge may once more run freely through the world for anyone to seek, and not hidden away by limited and jealous forces such as Fialar and Galar... ;)

  • I'm extremely intrigued by the Norse legends, I can't wait for your channel!

  • I agree that old religious wirtings should be read with an allegorical interpretation. Much of religion has two layers, the surface layer viewed as a simple story (which many today read as literal), and a deeper esoteric layer.
