i downloaded the game through maemo.org

the file wasn't zipped or anything, i just installed the game, and it opens but the graphics are crappy, i want to use scummVM but i cant find the path of the game to add it,,, anyone can help?

A year old, this game must be playable on lots of other systems by now through ScummVM, especially since it's been updated quite a bit since this video. Very cool to see it play so smoothly. I always loved that classic game.

install scummvm from Extras-devel .You need some datafiles from the cd of the game . Just copy and paste datafiles to your N900 . Visist scummvm site to know what datafiles you need. Buy the cd game or google to find download link :)

two ways:

1) enable extra-devel and install scummvm

2) search on site: talk.maemo org the thread titled "ScummVM on N900" and search for latest version (ask here how to install with x-terminal) :)

I got scummvm installed and i downloaded The Curse of Monkey Island on fileplanet. It doesn't read the file. Is it because is a .zip? how and where do i put the game to run it? or do i really need x-terminal to run the games?

Now scummvm is available on extras devel (or maybe testing), so no more x-terminal install is needed.

However, once scummvm is installed you need to unzip your game on any directory, then from scummvm menu:

add game -> choose -> find directory where you copied the unzipped game.

How to install ScummVM is described in the post under this.

Where to find Lucas games: you must have the original games and copy (simply copy and paste from floppy disks or cd to N900 directory). Other ways are illegal.

Only a few games are became freeware, but all you need can be found on google :)

Is it complicated getting this running on the n900?

This version is the official one downloaded from Scummvm site (find ScummVM on Google).

Select "Maemo package (OS 2006, 2007 and 2008) (3.5M .deb)", download it in N900 and use X-Terminal to install, e.g.:

dpkg -i /home/user/Documents/scummvm_1­.0.0_armel.deb

But is coming a easier version to install downloadable directly from N900 (by repositories)
