COD4 - IW3 Engine MW2 - IW4 Engine

both engines use the ID Tech 3 source code. (thats why you see "contains software licensed from ID Software" on the back of every call of duty game case)

Call of duty engine is way better, its easier to kill people online and the guns look better aswell , but modern warfare 2 is a better game but call of duty 4 is a better engine

idk i can really see much of a difference i mean cod4 was made in 3 years and mw2 was 1-2 tops so basically what im saying is if they didnt rush mw2 it would have look way way better and maybe not as shitty the graphics are better but by what standards cod4s gameplay is much better and you can forgive lower graphics if the games fun and balanced so cod4s better but like i said mw2 could have been much better then it is but epic fail and as a sequel it failed too mctavish with a mo hawk WTF

damn i remember when cod 4 came out everyone went nuts on how great and photorealistic the graphics were, unfortunately i had to get gta4 so i sold it for money to buy it. i play MW2 and its a daily routine now, just last week i borrowed CoD 4 to get some achievements that i missed and OMFG the graphics, compared to MW2 are horrible (not really but theyre worse). They came a looong way to deliver something better than MW1...seriously the guns look bland in cod 4, everything does compared 2 MW2

Little difference? MW2 has way less framerate drops, even when there's an ac130 bombing the shit out of everything... MW2 also has better draw distance.
