I think it is complete bullshit, if she wanted the citizens of Hawaii to vote on it should have made it that way. I am not sure if thats possible. At least Hawaii still has the old rights in the state. At least theres something there. Other states have nothing. I know the chances of Texas getting Same-sex Marriage or anything like that are very slim to none. I don't think it will ever pass there. I don't think my state will ever get there, BUT one day we will be just as equal in this Country.

It is very confusing here, because one day Pennsylvania Democratic, the next day it is Republican. We will have to elect a new governor in November of this year. One that is for Civil Unions, and one that wants to ban everything here in the State of PA. So basically we are lost here.

Not only was the union in consideration never referred to as marriage within that bill, lady Lingle's been divorced twice, which means she's twice as much a threat to the institution of marriage as any gay couple. This was not about the institution of marriage. In fact, she's discredited anyone who says the problem is calling it marriage that doesn't condemn her motion. This was solely about her prejudice and that of many others like her against the "other" having rights.

Shame on Hawaii. That ignorant ass said that this shouldn't be decided on a vote from a small group of people. Doesn't she realize that nearly every civil rights vote was decided by a small group of people because a majority should never vote for the rights of a minority? If she had it her way there would be no rights for women or African Americans because the majority didn't want to give those rights to these groups in history. It's pure ignorance.

I would like to see both of you on videos together. Sadly, all attempts to forbid same-sex marriage [and in my case all same-sex unions] have passed. The only close exception is granting all the state rights for Washington's domestic partnerships through passing Referendum 71.
