i just had my left hip pierced yesterday. My piercer numbed my hip so i didn't feel a thing. It had cost me £40, which is more expensive than others around my area, but he was such a professional and had pierced me before hand that i thought it was necessary to pay that little bit extra for a good service.

I haven't had any pain from it whatsoever, maybe it is because i'm not skinny skinny, or that i've cleaned it correctly, who knows.

Just ask your piercer if they do a numbing service!

I've had my hips pierced for 4, almost 5 years. They do get caught on things a lot. They never truly heal and rejection rate is very high. Most people have them 6 months to a year before having to take them out or they reject on their own. They are very hard to take care of, but if you want to keep them that badly then they should be no problem. I have over 17 piercings aside from my ears. All are generally easy to care for, surface are the hardest. Good luck to anyone wanting to get them!!
