  • Why can't he marry her anymore? It is so sad and romantically moving.

  • Merci beaucoup! Maintenant je comprends. C'est triste vraiment! :)

  • Sorry if my French maybe has mistakes, I've only recently started learning it, so I didn't feel comfortable in writing this what I just said in this comment in French (it would probably be clumsy and with mistakes).

  • Wonderful music and wonderful words! And of course, I ADORE their singing and acting, too. Could anyone tell me the plot of this opera in short? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. :)

  • Pretty trite stuff. Lloyd Webber lite.

  • à dcrazmo,

It is extracted from the famous French literature.

Cosma, the composer is also famous it is thus FRENCH, different from the English and American style ; sorry

But i love also very much Lloyd Webber

  • magnifique!

  • Thanks for posting. I watched it on arte this week, and I found this new opera pretty good. I like the music in the scenes of the four leading roles (Fanny, Marius, his father, Panisse), the chorus and orchestra scenes not so much (Imo a bit boring musically). All the leading singers acted very good, that made especially the finale very moving (which is completely different from the film i´ve seen years ago with Leslie Caron, I guess the opera follows more the story of the book)
