The sense of the Dark Eldar being is to devour souls, so they can outrun Slaanesh. This makes them immortal, but at the same time their own soul is suffering. The other Eldar have their soul stones. Their different opinions about how they can protect themselves against Slaanesh made them split. And also the Dark City, Commoragh is untouchable, because it´s in the furthest depths of the webway, wich are controlled by the dark eldar and nobody else knows how to get there.

I love the dark eldar simply because they are THE most vicious race in the 40, 000 universe. If they dont kill you with the white hot spike from a harlequin that causes your blood to boil and explode they take you away to their horrific worlds where torture is beyond comprehension. There was a small story in the codex that walks about skinning space amrines alive and scarring peoples souls with horrific images XD simply put they are awesome

No. Grotesques come from two sources. One, Dark Eldar who torture themselves because they have an intense desire to cause pain but for whatever reason have been unable to acquire slaves to torture. Two, Dark Eldar captured by Haemonculi.
