To the person who posted this, the reason the guy was killed, even if he appeared wounded, is to ensure he won't be coming back to do nasty things again. That is what war is about. @tiborvivi Regarding Afghanistan, perhaps you forgot that we went there to eliminate the Taliban that were supporting Al Queda. They killed many innocent people on 9/11. If we leave Afghanistan now, the Taliban would return and kill many innocent people in their own country as they again impose Sharia law. We are trying to stabilize the situation there. Hopefully we will succeed, but I don't know. We don't "murder" Afghanistan civilians, but we do kill terrorists. Some innocent die anyway.
@tiborvivi Regarding Iraq, most Americans feel that Bush made a serious mistake there by attacking them. The good news is that Saddam is gone. People there are happy about that. But there are many ethnic conflicts that we could not resolve that continue to destabilize the country. We tried to establish democracy, but the current leader seems to sympathize with Iran. This is not good, but we will try to continue to support them in their efforts to succeed in rebuilding.
@tiborvivi As far as American lives lost in wars for Isreal, we do not put our ground troops in any Isreali conflicts, nor do we intend to. We will continue to support Isreal's right to exist, as we should, of course, but we will continue to encourage both sides to negotiate for a Palestinian solution. Both sides need to get along with each other and we discourage aggression on both sides. It is very complicated, tiring, and expensive, but eventually they will have peace.
@tiborvivi As a last note, I just want to point out that we supported dictatorships in the region for many years. This was deemed necessary to maintain stability in the region during the Cold War. Now, with Obama, we have worked hard to support the citizens of countries overthrow these tyrants, but not put our own troops on the ground. That is what the Libyans wanted, and we were glad to assist them in other ways. I hope we can continue to do more good when others ask for help as well.

To the person who posted this, the reason the guy was killed, even if he appeared wounded, is to ensure he won't be coming back to do nasty things again. That is what war is about. It isn't like we can go in, nurse him back to health, and then keep him in a prison somewhere. Remember, these people are engaging in terroristic acts, killing many innocent people. If they saw you, they would kill you. Them, or us. It is as simple as that.

@tiborvivi Regarding Afghanistan, perhaps you forgot that we went there to eliminate the Taliban that were supporting Al Queda. They killed many innocent people on 9/11. If we leave Afghanistan now, the Taliban would return and kill many innocent people in their own country as they again impose Sharia law. We are trying to stabilize the situation there. Hopefully we will succeed, but I don't know. We don't "murder" Afghanistan civilians, but we do kill terrorists. Some innocent die anyway.

@tiborvivi Regarding Iraq, most Americans feel that Bush made a serious mistake there by attacking them. The good news is that Saddam is gone. People there are happy about that. But there are many ethnic conflicts that we could not resolve that continue to destabilize the country. We tried to establish democracy, but the current leader seems to sympathize with Iran. This is not good, but we will try to continue to support them in their efforts to succeed in rebuilding.

@tiborvivi As far as American lives lost in wars for Isreal, we do not put our ground troops in any Isreali conflicts, nor do we intend to. We will continue to support Isreal's right to exist, as we should, of course, but we will continue to encourage both sides to negotiate for a Palestinian solution. Both sides need to get along with each other and we discourage aggression on both sides. It is very complicated, tiring, and expensive, but eventually they will have peace.

@tiborvivi As a last note, I just want to point out that we supported dictatorships in the region for many years. This was deemed necessary to maintain stability in the region during the Cold War. Now, with Obama, we have worked hard to support the citizens of countries overthrow these tyrants, but not put our own troops on the ground. That is what the Libyans wanted, and we were glad to assist them in other ways. I hope we can continue to do more good when others ask for help as well.

If your read any history text book, you will see that we did the same in Vietnam, South Korea, and in Europe in World War two. That is the objective of the Americans in nearly every war. The US counterbalances out the force to insure that a country will not be taken by another seeking domination. As the leader of the UN security council it is the Job of the United States to do so. Simple as that.
