I got bored after one hour of play. Online is crap because of lag (not their fault btw) and playing the AI was like taking candy from a baby just like in most arcade racing games you just run them off the track -_-

Also if you hit a car going 120mph you're toast so where's the "simulation" and "professional driving" factor there?

NFS: HP2 was a good one though. Hell, I still play that game from time to time. I'm gonna get this game. Looks like the best one yet. That dude said that "real race car drivers that play these games typically play from the bumper cam" . I totally disagree on two factors:

1) Interior modeling has only recently been a common feature on console based games.

2) Real race car drivers intereset are typically in simulation and not arcade racing.

I'm not suggesting NFS shift is not fun...It certainly is. The promoters of games like this are constantly trying to bridge the gap between sim and arcade. Can't figure that goal out???

The first six need for speed games that were released from 1994 until 2002 were the best and were real need for speed games. After that it all went downhill with crappy soundtracks and tuner cars only. But then EA made a comeback to the way need for speed use to be by releasing need for speed shift. But the soundtrack still sucks in that game because it does not have a original soundtrack like need for speed high stakes and need for speed 2 did which was created for the actual game.

swicthone, The driver in this video is too aggressive. That's why he's all over the place. I drive in Shift with a g25 wheel. I am on driver level 41. I'd smoke this guy in the video. Shift teaches you how to race if you LISTEN to it.

GT is proprietary (PS3 only). The PCs graphics are so much better then ps3, it isn't funny! How is GT better? F1 will be out next year for PC. It'll make you DROOL.

Setting your controller to a comfortable scheme should apply to all the events in the game in a way that is universal.

The rest of the tweaking should come from tuning and modifying the cars to give you what you need.

I shouldn't be needing to modify my controls so that I can make the transition from racing to drifting. I also shouldn't need to turn the steering sensitivity to nearly 20% just to keep the game from feeling like a twitchy mess.

I wondered why in many of the videos it seemed like the people playing really sucked and didn't know how to control the cars very well.

That was until I bought the game and found out why.

The controls suck.

And after making wildly unreasonable settings just to make the car drive right on the track, then I get into the drift events and find I will need to adjust them all over again just so that I might be able to get the car to grip in the rear when I need it to.

I think it is a really good effort by EA to go back to circuit racing, but I feel this game will be greatly overshadowed by GT5 & FM3 when they both come out. I'll still buy it though, just to get warmed up until the big guns hit the shelves XD

I still think that some of the crash physics are a bit off (GRID seemed to be more realistic in that aspect, but the face that you get disqualified if you take 3 or more shortcuts during a race is good, coz it means you have to stick to the track)

I think it's really annoying how everytime you hit something, whether it be something significant or something small and minute, everything turns blurry and grey.They want to make NFS into a sim game but how is going blind for a second or two after hitting a small bump in the road realistic? That is sooo annoying and it ruins the game. It's nice to see that EA wants to make a different racing game but this game isn't good. They should stick to the old NFS games cuz this one isn't that great.
