  • This song is my favourite Black Sabbath song ever (even including Dio stuff), and this live version is amazing.

  • Most amazing voice EVER!

  • Well what do you know -- 2012 World Tour ! I went to the Reunion Tour 1999 .

  • My God~! this is good~! There is a God because the four original members are going to play 2012 and I will be there which is a surprise and more than a dream come true~! They don't even look bad..so proud~ of them.

  • Ozzy sang the everloving shit out of this song on this recording! Come on!! Listen to it!! I grew up in Colts Neck, NJ about 20 minutes from the Asbury Park Convention Hall. Was only 9 when they played this night- 8/5/1975. Have seen them with Ozzy, DIO, and with Gillan at the Fox Theater in ATL on Born Again tour. MEGALOMANIA FROM SABOTAGE!!!!!!! stick meeeeeeeeeee!!

  • epic tune

  • Very cool. Thank you

  • Can only hope and pray they cover this track when they tour in 2012

  • Heaven is hearing the bass and guitar interaction as the main riff starts for a second time. This is assuredly the best live Sabbath song I've ever heard.

  • WE ARE LEARNING THIS TUNE,. AND ITS NOT AN EASY SABBATH TUNE

  • Fuck it sabsfan. If it took him Osbourne show to get it - thats cool. All it took me was 2 hits of white blotter to "get" planet caravan. People usually don't think halucinations when they think of Sabbath but they are definitely there. The lyrics might be the most underestimated characteristic of this band. When blues wanted to take them in one direction with National Acrobat - Spiral Architect took them into the other world.

No one truley recognizes brilliance when its in front of them...

  • @aldohux

Well, I do. But I'm on another level, and not because of drugs.

  • @aldohux

c'mon dude lot's of people are hip. you've a stack of good here too. thoughtfull.

  • haunting riffs and so much emotion in Ozzy's voice! holy smokes!

  • Geezer was such a twisted fuck! :'/ brings tears to my eyes (sniffles)

  • Ozzy Rules

  • @Dekrapitator666

And that's the fault of the other bands? Hey, I don't like Rolling Stone either, but I don't like music because of what Rolling Stone says. Their magazine isn't good enough to wipe my ass with. To take it out on the bands themselves though, kidding around or not, that's wrong. Besides, Sabbath reached critical acclaim long before "The Osbournes". Think around the time of the original "Reunion" album and how well that album did.

  • @blacksabfan No, it's not those bands' faults. I just don't like them. I tend to express things like that in a colorful and robust manner. It is not my intent to whiz in anyone's Corn Flakes. Those bands are all big boys, they can take it.

  • @blacksabfan And btw, all that other shit aside, you got some killer-ass vids on your channel. I'm enjoying browsing them.

  • @blacksabfan Go ahead and knock the osbournes all you want but if it wasnt for the show I wouldnt be into the music I am today, gnr, metallica, ozzy all owe that show for exposing me to that music and not the shit on the radio today!

  • @maximumpain1

If if took 'The Osbournes" to get you into music, then I have to wonder what type of mind you really have, in that it takes some shitty TV show on MTV to turn you onto music. Why not try discovering it on your own?

  • @Dekrapitator666

I like Sabbath, but I also like most of those other bands. Try not being such a narrow-minded asshole.

Now, I am on my way to have some more passionate sex with those Rolling Stone editors.

  • @Dekrapitator666 Shut up. in that time Rolling Stone said that this was a great album, idiot. Also, when it was released, they already considered Paranoid also great.

  • @Dekrapitator666 Shut up. in that time Rolling Stone said that this was a great album, idiot. Also, when it was released, they already considered Paranoid also great.

  • @blacksabfan FU! The old rock &roll is the shit!

  • @Mustash524

Did you even read my comment or are you just another asshole who thinks he has to comment on fuck-all that he sees?

  • Awesome. I can feel this song because of Ozzy voice! Great performance

  • 3:50 ... and Iommi invented Metal, not Ozzy! ;)

  • @acreswild Neither of them did it, and no one say it was ozzy.

  • ...WONDER...

  • NICE-it doesn't get better than this. My fav BS album (Sabotage) with a classic, unheard ( to me) live track.

  • Ozzy's voice conveys the pain of the human condition like no one else's. That's why he's the Prince of F#@&ing Darkness, because he shows us the darkness inside our own hearts.

  • @flashbastard89 but he could never have done it without the lyrics being written by Geezer Butler (and later Bob Daisley). I agree though, his emotion is incredible, live and in the studio!

  • Hope I was there when they played that song!

  • yeah... ozzy never had the best singing technich but was awesome at it anyway...

best BS vocalist of them all...

  • @CentraCross yeah... but don't be such a purist, it's bad for your soul... you know what i meant with that, and your also right but nobody likes anyone who tries so hard at being right... you come out as troll...

  • @moretimetokill31 Except I might also educate someone.

  • Ooo!!! Ozzy is Forcing His VOice!!! when the Metal Starts!!! 4:15 =(

  • one of the best songs in rock and no its not the best but one of

  • Fuck rap-crap!! I gotta rock out to hard rock, acid rock, heavy metal rock 'n' roll!

  • Amazing performance on Ozzy's part.

  • Oh FUCK! Tony Iommi's guitar sounds so HEAVY and RAW!

  • Great version of this!

  • @666slink hell,yes. it certainly is.

  • Oh my god...this song is fucking epic. As much as I love Black Sabbath, I have no idea how I missed out on this until now. It gives me chills. Perfect guitar and vocals. Ozzy and Tony Iommi compliment each other so well. Just plain awesome.

  • sabbath is the best dried and cut enjoy it wille the musics still around cause people now a days are in to rap crap and justin beiber

  • @armstrongbryan67 fuck rap, and mainstream bullshit

  • sabbath is the best dried and cut

  • go here for the REST of it..

    bigozine2comarchiveARraritiesARblksbasburyhtml

wouldn't leave the dubyas , slashes or dots-- sorry!

  • I had no idea that this song was even played live. Awesome.

  • wow way better than the studio version

  • Their best song EVER, still remember buying my first album ever, Paranoid at 14, LOVELY STUFF!

  • Hmm idk.. Ozzy became a way better technical vocalist later in life.

  • @SpencerJacobMusic

Nooo... he has never become better vocalist thatn here :(

  • ozzy is awesome without digitized voice effects or anything else. when will metal of today become the same. live metal today sucks fucking shit balls. no one can really sing and make it sound like the mf cd like ozzy.

  • @Gwayne774 1. There are too effects on his voice, both on the album and here. 2. Most extreme metal these days, especially death metal, scorns the use of most effects to begin with. 3. What's your definition of singing? Are we only talking about varying pitches in the Western tonal system sang in a clean voice? Because that would be a narrow, reductive definition. And 4. Meshuggah, for example, sounded crystal clear, spot-on, and heavier than album, both times I saw them.

  • @Gov502010 Hey man! I'm still a kid and I love this!

  • I think i'm the only one who can sing this exactly like ozzy.

*deep voice* feel, him slipping away, slipping it tommorow

  • just shows how awesome ozzy et all were at the height of their powers. one of the hardest tracks to pull off live - amazing! just wish i could have been there. hope they might try it at next runion. LOVE THIS BAND. simmo.

  • when i used to live in niagara falls, i did a night job and on the weekends, i liked to cruise river road at 2 a.m., blasting this one in my car with the windows wide open...and a shit load of other sabbath songs. ha, the tourists on the side walks didn't seem too happy. but i'd quickly leave them behind to the relentless thunder of niagara falls. miss those glorious nights.

  • @vinnynumbnuts Used to ride my bike up the Niagara parkway.....I wish I had an MP3 player or Ipod back in the day....I'd be blasting the fuck out of sabbath,Zep and purple.

  • I'm pissed that half of the vids that I enjoy have been removed from the YouTube. Oh well, that's another reason to support local music. At least I gets to not only listen to them, but I can say hello to each person.

  • Truly Amazing...Thanks for posting

  • I can't believe that I found this live performance of this thing of beauty. Thanks!

  • THE BEST BAND OF ALL TIME WITH THE BEST SINGER:

    OZZY OSBOURNE

  • A MELHOR BANDA DE TODOS OS TEMPOS COM O MELHOR CANTOR:

    OZZY OSBOURNE

  • OMG i just listened this song on cd and i didn't imagine that they've played this piece live. It is amazing

  • I wus there... anyone else? Stayed with Sabbath at the Empress Hotel.

  • @GeneLysko no because they wanted all the girls to suck their dicks deep-throat style and let them shove dildos and other shit up their asses......by the way, how was that for you?

  • This song is so awesome!

  • Kickass!!!!! Vintage Black Sabbath is unmatched by any others!!!!! Truly incredible!!!

  • Can you imagine how could he sing it (Megalomania) in I don't know...first days...1970/71...

  • thanks for putting this up,one of my favorites.

been a Sabbath fan since 1969..

since Oz isn't drinking an all these days he may be able to pull it off with lots of practice(?)

  • OK KIDS why argue bout tha historic influence of sabbth when most of you were minus20 yrs of age when all this went down....when u make a SINGLE HIt, like paraniod or even song2 by blur, post ur video n we'll tell u how awesome u r...till then allu kids fukk off

  • this is the best example of sabbath live:fucking awsome. amazing, and absoulutly perfect.

  • Tony Iommi invented heavy metal

  • @volvo4377 Some idiots say that the beatles were...

  • Black Sabbath Rules.

  • love this song

  • . . . . schizophrenia the best of the earth, I've singed my soul in the fires of Hell.

Peace of mind eluded me, but now it's all mine. I simply try, but he wants me to fail, Feel it slipping away, slipping in tomorrow. Now I've found my happiness, Providence of sorrow, No more lies, I got wise, I despise the way I worshipped you yeah. Now I'm free, can't you see. And now instead I won't be led by you now - Free!

  • of saving my soul ,Beating the demigod I'm fading away, I'm going backwards but I'm in control Feel it slipping away, slipping in tomorrow. Getting back to sanity, providence of sorrow. Was it wise to disguise. How I tried to get away from you now, Is there a way that I could pay. Or is it true I have to stay with you now? How I lied, went to hide. How I tried to get away from you now. Am I right if I fight?

That I might just get away from you now. Suck me!!!! I'm really digging. . . . . .

  • . . .complete control. Why don't etc. . Well I feel something taking me, I don't know where, it's like a trip inside a separate mind, The ghost of tomorrow of my favourite dream is telling me to leave it all behind,Feel it slipping away, slipping in tomorrow Got to get to happiness, want no more of sorrow How I lied, went to hide How I tried to get away from you now Am I right if I fight? That I might just get away from you now Sting me!! Well I feel something's giving me the chance to. . .

  • I hide myself inside the shadows of shame, the silent symphonies were playing their game, my body echoed to the screams of my soul, it started something that Where can I run to now the joke is on me, no sympathysing God it's insanity Why don't etc. Obsessed with fantasy, possessed with my dreams, I mix reality with pseudo bad schemes, the ghost of violence was something I'd seen, I sold my soul to be the human obscene, how could this poison be the cream of my soul, how did my fantasies take. .

  • Well Ozzy may have cracked on some of these lyrics. But he nailed "Suck Me!"

  • @aceyaboiii ONLY FAG HERE IS YOUR LITTLE PUNK ASS!!! OH WHEN YOUR DADDY TAKES HIS DICK OUT OF YOUR MOUTH TELL YOUR MOTHER HI FOR ME.... THANKS....

  • This is superb - I can't see any problem with it - In fact I don't think I've ever heard a more 'live' track in my life. A great, great band and a great, great performance.

  • yesterday i listen this song first time in the bus, i love it, i think that i listen more than ten, i have a great fan of sabbath they born in 70's and me in 94 this is a FACT the metal never die

  • @2309davidobando I was born in 1998 and i played war pigs on guitar hero 2 and i heard war pigs and i said these guys rock( i was like 8 at the time) i looked them up on youtube and i've been a fan ever since 2006 SABBATH FOREVER

  • classic heavy Sabbath.. how it should be, great arrangement of the song, big fan. Thanks

    David

  • When are we going to get a past lives 2,or another old live sabbath cd/dvd set?

  • Couldn't agree more with comments below. This track is my favourite from BS and Ozzie does a superb job of it. And it's not an easy song to sing.

  • Priceless....Just priceless...

  • i love sabbath !

  • what a great job!! this is Sabbath!!

  • the greatest black sabbath song ever!!

    this is black sabbath

  • deff. one of the best bands live.

  • I'm glad I heard this, the song in it's element. It takes me back to vintage Sabbath, the first 3 albums, before they got caught up with multi-track recording. Why hide a great dark riff like this by covering it up with fancy lead fills? Iommi's riffs are best served cold, we like it cold and bare. Listen to the drums, just like the eponymous Black Sabbath song. Anyone agree?

  • @nostromissimo I couldn't have said it better, Sabbath!

  • @nostromissimo iommi's riffs are best period- the man writes the best pentatonic, blues and minor riffs of all time

  • ozzy's so high... they all r' its a blissful time. :)

  • THEY ARE THE BEST EVER

  • Theres obviously 3 people who dont what a riff is.........

  • I think that Ozzy sings this song very well here. It's not accident that Ozzy is popular. He has got very recognizable and strong voice with great rage. Listen 4:16. It's very, very high and it's sooo difficult to sing it live. To be honest this is the best Megalomania live that i ever heard. Anyway dont forget that Ozzy is only human... he's not singing-song machine. Great performance!

  • The sound is great - Errrrrr - - Yes some (LOTS) bad Ozzy notes but the band sounds great. I can live with that.

  • @maerdit111 this one is for the true fans :)

  • whys this version so good?

  • Although Ozzie is clearly straining to hit the top register in this song, it doesn't matter that much in heavy metal music. Not so in hard rock , where precision is everything. Heavy Metal relies on imprecision for effectiveness and Ozzie compensates for this weakness in his voice to add more doom and gloom to the over all effect. Brilliantly done Ozzie. I much prefer to listen to this version than the studio version.

  • BLACK SABBATHS MUSIC WAS ALWAYS SO CREEPY...I LOVE IT,I PREFER THE STUDIO VERSION OF THIS SONG BUT THIS IS QUITE NICE...HORNS UP

  • howd he have trouble singing this back then?

  • fucking awesome

  • why is this song pushed aside for paranoid?????WHATEVER!!!! THIS IS MUCH BETTER!!

  • it never has been about ozzy's ability to sing, rather the awesome performances that he gave. the original rocker!

  • How could this poison be the dream of my soul?

  • Thunderous, all-conquering, constantly coming at you Rock and Roll! Agreed that this is an under-rated Sabbath song; it's one of the ones I play the most.

  • suck meeeeeeeeaaaahhhhh!

  • why dont you assholes try to sing it ????

  • @mjlarry1969 IO tried singing just one stanza--the portion "No more lies! I got wise! I despise the way I worship you, yeah..." I nearly fainted, and ended up with a terrible sore throat. I don't know how he did this, or the other songs on "Sabotage".

  • I love this version best of all, the octave drop is very effective and works brilliantly and just adds to the doom laden effect of what is a Heavy Metal tune interwoven with rock and roll. Far better than the album version where this is absent.

  • Fantastic track. One of my favourites.

  • ozzys a fucking badass. he smokes those mics when he sings and his lyrics have real depth to them. he totally doesnt get enough credit for his talent

  • I think Ozzy hits his highest note in the studio version.

    A D5.

About this being the hardest song ever, sure it must be pretty hard.

But how about Dreamer Deciver or Victim of Changes by JP?

  • @MrSomonestolemyname Try singing Deep Purple's "Child In Time"! Yikes!

  • @pikeasaurusrex Yikes. You are correct. Its a wonder Ians

    vocal chords didnt melt.

  • This performance will never cease to amaze me. Raw power

  • The quality of this live gig is astounding

  • ozzys the fuckin shit he shreads the vocals up hes so sick. not to mention the rest of the band is fucking epic

  • I loved it the first time I heard it 30 something years ago never forgot it still love it Suck meeeeeeee

  • who says ozzy cant sing?

  • Black Sabbath Is The Only True Heavy Metal Band!!! It's A Shame That They May Never Get Back Together!!! Dio Died And Ozzy Bitches About Everything!!! So Until Ozzy Grows Up And Can Stop Fighting With Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath Will Never Be Back Together!!!

  • @DylanBStringer91 well said, sharon probably has alot to do with the lawsuits and fighting, shes all about the money!

  • this is byfar the best live song by Black Sabbath

  • Anyone else wish to return to the 60's and 70's and stay?

  • heavy fucking doom metal forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is Cool..

  • Man I just Love this song!!!

    Suck me

  • Man I just love this song!!!

    Suck meeee

  • great sound compared to most other li9ve songs from sabbath i feel. and yes oz is hot on this song very nice vocals.

  • Trill-a-licious!

  • What a song.

  • @MMAharaja JACKASS

  • fucking awesome....Sabs truly were the giants!!!! Put yourself in front of the stage for this...mind blowing!!!!!

  • Musically this is awesome,it's too bad Oz' vocals don't hold up throughout.

  • Even though they didn't, I still think this is track is awesome, including Ozzy!

  • Raw raw power, nothing like listening to old Black Sabbath. Even better checking out their live gigs from the 70's, wish I could have been there to witness their brilliance.

  • This is tremendous

  • i love this song :)

all of ozzy era is great

  • Pure bliss, time and time again

  • Pure Greatness on top of greatness just gets Better and Better

Lord I wish I would have been old enough to see them in 75'

  • i love most, megalomania, backstreet kid and sabbra cadabra

underrated songs, but i love them, ozzy's voice is so piercing, but its the whole idea of heavy metal

  • 'thrill of it all' is the most underated ozzy song.

also the whole tony martin shit is overlooked which is sad cos he was an unbelievable vocalist

  • To the guy who uploaded the video...everybody has trouble singing this song it is one of the most difficult songs ever to sing...

  • EVERYBODY has tried to sing this song? And it's the most difficult EVER? Scientifically proven?

    No.

That said, I never said it wasn't difficult. I even think Ozzy did a pretty good job here. I'm not sure why certain people are implying I've said otherwise...

  • I agree Ozzy did a very good job here I'm just saying that me as a fan and other fans who might have tried to sing this as I have know how difficult it is...the song is about 10 minutes long and I started singing...at about 3 minutes I couldn't go further there was no voice coming out of my throat
