@mrkpphoto Man, I wish I could! Sorry. About that monorail: of course all of these cameras just serve as light tight boxes, and though different lenses have different qualities, if you contact print on 8x10, the differences between lenses is modestly nominal--so it all comes down to your vision, is it a good vision and are you able to realize it on paper. If you are using the wet darkroom and are interested in pyro negs, you might be interested in my presentations. Pyro + 8x10 = stunning!
@alfentanil I have made s a subsequent video entitled: Deardorff 8x10 and the Wide Angle Lens, that shows exactly what you describe so very well. Thanks for your kind input! B.
@alfentanil wow, 120--that's pretty darn wide. Absolutely! I just bought a Sterling (I think it's English made) Improved Wide Angle lens--and I think it approaches your length. From what I hear it's a sharp lens. It certainly covers 8x10--uncoated and only 2 elements, and only measures about 1 3/4 inches across. I have yet to use it--right now I'm having it barrel mounted into a Prontor enlarging shutter. I can't wait to use it . . . Thanks for your input!
You, bet. That's probably an oversite due to by bias--that is, I don't use anything shorter than a 8 1/4" Ektanon (ca. 210 mm), and with that I'm not particulairly challanged to use any kind of what I would consider fancy, or at least out of the ordinary, movement combinations.
