Hal won the battle but Tiger won the war. Hal realized he has to do this every week and soon after that, he was gone like David Duval. The only ones who can "war with Tiger" on a consistent basis are Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Padraig Harrington, and Angel Cabrera. Retief gave a good battle to him early in his career but eventually faded away.
