    5 * and faved

  • My favorite so far... Beautiful

  • This is fantastic. I was wondering, if you are playing with a singer that has a lower range than Buck, is it difficult to transpose the pedal steel parts to another key?

  • Tom Brumley would have been so proud of you:-)

  • Holly smokes Mr. Hartley I would just like to tell you that your music is excellent. I am a California youngster and have always taken a liking to country music but after listening to your beautiful music I must admit that I realize that I have been listening to junk music all my life. Long live the Steel Pedal Guitar and may you live long, happy and prosperous Mr. Hartley.

  • Excellent!

  • Love this one great post thank you ☺

  • EXCELLENT !!!!!!!! 10 **********STARS

  • Hey dave can you comment on your setup. Primarily amp settings and is that a delay near your volume pedal?

  • Comment removed

  • Dave this has to be the most moving renditionf this song I have evr heard on "Steel". I am 82 & I love your style! I would love to hear you play "When I Call Your Name" sometime, as I brush tears from my eyes.

  • so smooth and sweet....

  • Okay if you like this then you will SLOVE (super love) Robert Randolph!!! Robert Randolph is THE BEST pedal steel guitarist I have ever heard! He just came out with a new CD and it’s AMAZING! His solos of him rocking out are to die for! When I listen to his music, I can feel every note, The music really just runs through your body and there aren’t too many artists I can say that about!! Check him out! You won’t be anything less than AMAZED

  • thanks dave. i play guitar, drums and piano but steel, man that seems very hard

  • Beautiful, I just love this song. I did it on stage at a pzzaria/brewery in Brooklyn with my kid when she was about 7 or 8. Those were good times! I wish I could play pedal steel, but i gotta get by just double stopping my guitar. I've played with a pedal steel. I sing, and there's nothing like a pedal steel and a fiddle in the mix. You play beautifully. Thank you so much!

  • Is that a short scale neck? It looks awfully small to me

  • I'd Love to pick with you!! You're a great player. I pull a little on a bass upright...Beautiful playing.

  • so nice

  • it takes Heart to play the steel Guitar and man you must be all heart cause this is just Beautiful.just love it.Gary.Canada

  • OMG You would have the Late Great Leon McAuliffe bawling his eyes out with that crying steel!!! He played steel for Bob Wills' Texas dance band, but you probably already knew that!!!10Stars PLUS!!!!

  • I'm glad all you young people are here to hear this. Authentic beer drinkin' music...the kind you take your little Dolly counterclockwise around the dance floor with. Y'all excuse me. I need a beer.

  • HILLBILLY THIS GREAT

  • @UnknownSteelPlayer ..... David Hartley

  • Good version...Tom Brumley played with my band early 80's...he also produced 4 songs for me in Nashville.

  • simply awesome!!!

  • simply wonderful...I want one toooooo!!!

  • This guy is awesome. This is country music, not the stuff you hear on Froggy 10-whatever. Long live the pedal steel

  • A gorgeous instrumental Dave.

Sadly, modern Country Music in the USA is slowly losing Pedal Steel as a primary mainstay instrument.

  • Most of the time anymore, its not country, its pop.

  • So nice....

  • I agree with Bitterrootsteel, it is a damn shame that this guy isn't already famous and making it big time! The sad part is, he could play with anyone in Country Music, easy!
