This is fantastic. I was wondering, if you are playing with a singer that has a lower range than Buck, is it difficult to transpose the pedal steel parts to another key?
Holly smokes Mr. Hartley I would just like to tell you that your music is excellent. I am a California youngster and have always taken a liking to country music but after listening to your beautiful music I must admit that I realize that I have been listening to junk music all my life. Long live the Steel Pedal Guitar and may you live long, happy and prosperous Mr. Hartley.
Dave this has to be the most moving renditionf this song I have evr heard on "Steel". I am 82 & I love your style! I would love to hear you play "When I Call Your Name" sometime, as I brush tears from my eyes.
Okay if you like this then you will SLOVE (super love) Robert Randolph!!! Robert Randolph is THE BEST pedal steel guitarist I have ever heard! He just came out with a new CD and it’s AMAZING! His solos of him rocking out are to die for! When I listen to his music, I can feel every note, The music really just runs through your body and there aren’t too many artists I can say that about!! Check him out! You won’t be anything less than AMAZED

Beautiful, I just love this song. I did it on stage at a pzzaria/brewery in Brooklyn with my kid when she was about 7 or 8. Those were good times! I wish I could play pedal steel, but i gotta get by just double stopping my guitar. I've played with a pedal steel. I sing, and there's nothing like a pedal steel and a fiddle in the mix. You play beautifully. Thank you so much!
We have a lot of great steel players in the Annapolis Md. area but I've got to say you are absolutely the BEST. Keep those great videos coming. Clarke
OMG You would have the Late Great Leon McAuliffe bawling his eyes out with that crying steel!!! He played steel for Bob Wills' Texas dance band, but you probably already knew that!!!10Stars PLUS!!!!
I'm glad all you young people are here to hear this. Authentic beer drinkin' music...the kind you take your little Dolly counterclockwise around the dance floor with. Y'all excuse me. I need a beer.
Hi, my 4th pedal raises 1 from F# to G# and 2 from Eb to E. Most have this on a knee lever but I prefer the pedal for the faster songs., Regards, David Hartley
That is just a great song being played about as well as is humanly possible. I love it. Buck Owens rendition of Together Again has always been my favorite, until I saw this video that is. Thanks for sharing this gem.
Hi Dave....You get such a beautiful tone out of your gray Rains...Just wondering what pickup you're using...Sounds like a George L's E66, I think. Awesome playing, really smooth and clean. Paul
It's amazing - Not one but BOTH of the premier steel players recording the same tune...... David Hartley and Tom Brumley. Talk about the tops in entertainment listening! What beautiful, white, fluffy, lacey cloud did they pick you guys from?
I agree with Bitterrootsteel, it is a damn shame that this guy isn't already famous and making it big time! The sad part is, he could play with anyone in Country Music, easy!
GREAT JOB Bud Nashville Ranking...... I've been playing guitar for 5 years and that is the sweetest i've heard that song played so again GREAT JOB....
