  • To me Snow White resembled Jane Wyatt, Mrs. Anderson from "Father Knows Best."

  • And great dancing, Marge!

  • Beautifully done!

  • Video reference is not cheating, but you should try using it as an aid rather than completely rotoscoping.

  • This is absolutely horrible. It lacks weight - it floats. Reference serves as a jump off point. Watch it, understand the underlying forces, then push them further. Animation is the illusion of life, not movement. Animation is MORE than life. Even if you were to merely trace the keys off live animation, all internal drive of the character is lost. It sounds trollish, but this is truly worthless. You can't tell me you learned even the slightest about the driving forces by doing this.

  • @kyuugoki I wouldn't say it looks horrible, but everything else you said is absolutely spot on.

  • The Rotoscope always amazes me... thank you fleischer studios for creating it <3

  • well thanks! This is the actual dancer-girl who model for Snow White, her name is Marjory Champion. I just wanted to add that every single movement you see in the movie it`s hers! SHE IS Snow White. Now she-s 90. still the same lovely smile.

  • Genius. Many thanks for sharing :)

  • Great work! This was really cute.

  • the reason they call it cheating is because its tracing live-action video. yes, it looks good, but it's so obvious. You can always tell. It takes the flow and feel of the character away. When you rotoscope, you loose the emphasis of certain gestures and emotions you want to portray for a character. That just my opinion, but i'm sure alot of other traditional animators like myself feel the same.

I do, however, commend you patience in each individual frame. the model is lovely.

  • How did you do it?

  • wow! how do you do that sort of thing?

  • Some animators call it cheating. If it looks good though.. why not??

  • yes you're right. it is like cheating:)but it is also an old tecnique all made by hand

  • Those Animators don't know what they're talking about. You can't caricature an action without a reference. That rotoscope looks impressive.

  • @Twigs47 It's not cheating, but it has a very distinct look. Watch Snow White and squint your eyes. Parts that have been rotoscoped jump out at you from a mile away.

It's great when you want that look, but otherwise video is better used as reference.

  • @Twigs47 i wouldnt call it cheating, i would call i, using other influencesto make a job simpler and more realistic. after all, it was all drawn b hand

  • @Twigs47 it doesnt look good, even the original snow white didnt. the movie is amazing, but the rotoscoped parts arent good.

  • She was so pretty! ^,^

I swoon over your animation. Breathtakingly adorable!

  • pure disney

  • this is really impressive, well done :P

  • wow this is impressive! :)

  • thank you very much:) This is just because I've been very careful in drawing each frame the most faithful to the real footage live action frame:D

  • I forgot to write that I also liked how her hair moved with the turning of her head. Nice!

  • Very, very good!

  • I hate disney princess... It has nothing to do with this video... Anywhere, it was cool

  • Thanks to all...u r very kind...ehm..WHo is the Red Fairy?:)

  • Come see.

  • The Red Fairy says she really liked your rotoscope animation. You picked the perfect film to do your work on. Very fluid, very graceful.

  • i keep watching it over and over! its really nice, even.. relaxing =) great job

  • huh?

  • all rotoscoping is from live action...

  • This is actually a demo, and it will be esamined with other rotoscope I made to be accepted into an animation school, in my country. I hope they will like it the way u did:D

  • I really liked this. Very smooth. I know it takes forever to draw each frame by hand, plus the number of frames you have to do per second, but have you thought about creating a longer animation? I'd really be interested to see one. Great job.

  • its so simple yet so sweet

  • eheh no:) maybe I explained myself wrong. The original footage is a real dancing girl..filmed from real. That is why the movement is so realistic. I drew every single frame by hand. Then digitalised it...and put'em all together(24 drawing for one second). But the original film is a very dancing girl (marge Champion), not a cartoon, a real girl;) She was a famous dancer and did the graceful pantomime for Snow White.

  • I guess nobody actually reads the things posted before what they write here? He said its from the Original Animated Disny film made 60 some years ago. He didnt do anything but post it here.

  • Wow...

Animations must be extremely difficult! o.O

    Congrats!!

    xx

  • only time consuming when you trace them :)

  • Cool did u make that whit rotoscope??

  • mmm what effet? Basically, it has been realised by putting every single frame (that has been drawn by hand and then digitalized) together with adobe premiere:)

  • how do you do it, is it a program that applies the effect on your footage? thanks, daniel

  • yes, they actually used rotoscope. This is a rotoscope (a very home made,as u can see)from unused Disney live action footage filmed for the moves of Snow White. I think the live action girl is Marge Champion, who did every action for Snow White.

  • most of snow white was actuly rotoscoped, so this is just old dysney footage.

  • As he says in the description, this is unused film from snow white. Its funny how they told everyone they didnt use rotoscope, when its so obvious.

  • Actually I think it was old Disney footage, yes? Or maybe you did rotoscope from a video monitor? HM

  • Your really talented!

  • increible

  • hmm....snow white?

  • hahha very nice ye tvery RANDOM XD

  • lol
