The pt of the matter is that all artists evolve & there's always going to be a bunch of ppl whining about how their older stuff was better. But the fact is that if you want to prosper & still stay relevant in any industry, you have to modernize yourself. I think Ye has done a good job of that & his creativity shines on ea album.
@nasdaaq That is true. Teddy Riley is not even a bad producer, but I never thought his style works for MJ too well, though they did had some Classic songs (Remember the Time). MJ worked best with Quincy Jones and TBH, Teddy Riley best work is really with other artists, just as Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, and even his own group, Guy. With that said, Dangerous wasn't really that great; it's not bad, but it's not great. MJ's last album, Invincible, was great IMO.

That he was able to make the music come alive on that stage & through his videos. Liberian Girl, Keep It in The Closet; those are some of my favorites from him. And hell, Dangerous was awesome. I didn't like all of Invinscible. I liked Break of Dawn, Butterflies ofc, & Heaven but again it's prob cuz Sony screwed him promo wise.

At least his old songs was good. I am all for new sound, but at least make good music doing it. That is what many artists did, like the Beatles, and even Michael Jackson.

My Beautiful Dark Fantasy is one of the greatest sounding albums production wise of that year hands down... his production is expanding and getting alot better from his older just sampled stuff. the drums in lost in the world are crazyy Big! i really dont think his newer stuff sounds bad at all its just different. now i really didnt like 808's besides two songs but aye i'll give him that one to say how he feels lol

@dariushenry88 MJ had his critics as well when he broke off from working with Quincy & that dude from Heatwave in favor of Teddy Riley. The pt of the matter is that all artists evolve & there's always going to be a bunch of ppl whining about how their older stuff was better. But the fact is that if you want to prosper & still stay relevant in any industry, you have to modernize yourself. I think Ye has done a good job of that & his creativity shines on ea album.

@nasdaaq That is true. Teddy Riley is not even a bad producer, but I never thought his style works for MJ too well, though they did had some Classic songs (Remember the Time). MJ worked best with Quincy Jones and TBH, Teddy Riley best work is really with other artists, just as Bobby Brown, Keith Sweat, and even his own group, Guy. With that said, Dangerous wasn't really that great; it's not bad, but it's not great. MJ's last album, Invincible, was great IMO.

@dariushenry88 I liked Dangerous as well. MJ wasn't just about the music, but his presentation was always spectacular & that's what made him great. That he was able to make the music come alive on that stage & through his videos. Liberian Girl, Keep It in The Closet; those are some of my favorites from him. And hell, Dangerous was awesome. I didn't like all of Invinscible. I liked Break of Dawn, Butterflies ofc, & Heaven but again it's prob cuz Sony screwed him promo wise.

I'll put Joshua Tree up against any crap U2 puts out these days. They just put it out to put it out, cuz they know it'll sell.
