  • Thanks for the tips. I was just thinking a few hours ago about using a global compressor for one of my mixes. You made some great points.

  • cab you leave a link where we can get some PSP vst effects.?

  • UR VERY NICE

  • 2 years and still waitin on that sunrise.

  • WOOOW!!! THANKS BRO I'M NOT EVEN DONE YET AND IT'S CLEAR AND I'M USING A PAVILION Dv6 beatsaudio with no mic!!!! -Mr. Fella-

  • I have a question. :) I use Acoustica too but I'm a female vocal singer with a bit of a higher pitch when I sing, kind of opera-esque notes and softer ones. Is there anything I should keep in mind in terms of settings or do these tricks you gave us basically apply to all sorts of singing?

  • How did you get all those other extra effects??

  • Good job. I alway work on vocal and learn stuff from guy like you. I just got mixcraft for free so gone try it out moving from audacity to the 5.0.

  • Cool - loving these tips. Thanks!

  • Thumbs up if you thought the background music would've been rock when he was singing it

  • i had the same problem forever...

  • looks like you have about 900 worth of equipment and i hope you should know that its all being wasted on that crap mic.. you wont ever get a good sound out of that mic no matter what effects you put on it.. no offense get a good mic..

  • Great tips on some basics with minimal equipment, and much appreciated!

    But I have some questions:

First on the recommendation for hardware compression. Could you comment on the need further. Does this apply more with inexpensive mic's or is it an across the board recommendation?

Further advice on affordable hardware compression units?

I have some other Mixcraft related questions, on other subjects as well, could you lead me to a good forum or user group to discuss them?

    Thanks again!

  • how do you highlight the voice like that?

  • These tips plus a really good microphone=BEASTMODE :D

  • Does the same apply with to Rap Vocals of what is shown in this video?

  • r their any tips but rap vocals to get an iller krispy sound in mixcraft 5

  • You really should EQ while listening to the whole mix. But, everybody does things differently. You end up with a better picture of the whole song. Also, your voice sounded "bassy" because your human voice does produce those "sub-bass" tones.

  • WELL I'MMA WAITIN' ON THE SUNRISE, CAUSE I GUESS I'M TOO BLIND TO SEE!

I'm sorry everyone else has said this already, I had to do it too...

  • Great video!! Helped a TON

  • WELL IMA WAITIN ON THE SUNRIIIISEEEE CUZ I GUESS IM 2 BLIND 2 C

  • bravo!! lepo!!

  • Thank you, very helpful.

  • whys everyone hating... the guys trying to help and who knows it might actually help someone

  • who can i download the vst?

  • love the songg. (: thanks for the tips!

  • i'm sorry the advice was simply to your taste, you seem to have spent a lot of time on there.. however i absolutely hate that song, i'm so sorry, and the effects you added... no. it didn't help.WELL II'MA WAITIN' ON THE SUNRISE, CAUSE I GOT MY MIXCRAFT WITH ME, WELL II'MA WORKING ON AN ALBUM, THATS SO BAD THAT I SHOULDN'T BE, SO II'MA MAKE MYSELF A VIDEO, AND II'MA PRETEND TO HELP YA'LL OUT, WHEN INFACT ALL I'M DOING IS SHOWING OFF WITH MY SHIITY MUSIC TECHNIQUES NO DOUBT

  • @blahblahblah11304 legendary!!!!!

    *mega thumbs up*

  • can someone please message me and explain how to create these vocals in mixcraft so they sound smooth and nice like on a professional cd. i recorded my friends whose genre is hip hop, but i can not get their vocals to sound professional like on a cd. please someone help me.

  • okay, could we get one of these videos on best vocal effects 4 RAP & how to mix a RAP song? cuz maybe it just me cuz this aint my type music, but those vocals dont even sound that good to me.

  • You're trying to bring brightness in your singing. You should take singing lessons instead, those frequenties should not completely taken out. You make yourself sound like a jackass

  • I am new to Mixcraft and found this very helpful. I have an AKG D790 I have been struggling with.

  • hey i have an issue. why when im recording my voice with an instrumental track the voice records wrong and late ?? i mean when i heard the mix my voice sound early and the intrumental track sound good?

  • @mrjazziel go 2 *preferences* in *file* menu. u gotta play around wit the sample rate, bit depth, # of buffers and buffer size if ur using the WAVE option. it depends on da comptr but on mine sample rate 44100, buffers 8, bit depth 16, buffersize 4096.... try sumthin like that & it mite help. thatz what fixed it 4 me.

  • why u wait on sunrise?

  • @dexmix11 Hmm, well I guess because it sounded fitting for a blues song ;-)

  • could you send the pspsuedo effect to my email?

  • @Themfirstclassboys psp vst's are not free, they are at pspaudioware d o t c o m

  • For comrpession can somebody explain how to compress with acoustica compressor or Classic compressor ? what to boost and what to minimize ?

  • Well ill have a hell of a time getting that out of my head haha. Though it is a good song

  • @sxatqepl thank you :-)

  • I was the number 100 thump up guy :-D Thumps up for this guy!

  • you are amazing

  • and where can i get those vsts and stuff cuz i dont have them??

  • Thank you so much! It really helped!

PS. You sounds like Robbie Ray x)

  • i dare someone to use that vocal clip as their alarm clock

  • @ShopSongs LOL, if someone does, please let us know!

  • THANKS MAN EXACTLY THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR I USE MIXCRAFT EVERYDAY NOW MY VOCALS WILL SOUND BETTER

  • have you got any idea on whats the best way to do better sounding backing vocals????

  • Thank So Much My Track Sound Alot More Better LOL

  • thanks

  • where u get all the other things like psp n voc stereo stuff

  • @Darealchriscreed There are vst effects available all over the internet, free or paid. PSP is not free, but many others are.

  • you jus made urself sound like an old school radio lol... why would u wanna remove the low ends completely? it don't sound good at all

  • @MicAnonymous The human voice does not produce frequencies from about 60hz on down, there's no reason to have them there. The only thing they will do is hum or make "P" pop out. If you have too much low end in vox, they sound cheap or unproduced and stand on top the music rather being a part of it.

  • @acoustica222

ye talk to the death metal grindners!!! HAHAHA thanx for vid cool stuff, helped me a lot...

  • hey wats up i have the vocsteady but its not register can you help me i have the trial.

  • Can you pleaseeee help me with something ????? I want to sing on a song. (BUT I CANNOT SING) but i dont want to use autotune . . .any suggestions on something i could use to get help ?

  • @lilkjdabest8919 Gsnap pitch correction. If you upgraded to mixcraft 5.2, then you should already have it in your effects. otherwise, upgrade to 5.2 or download it from a google search. its free. It is autotune and the presets are all you need.

  • @hoosier9009 i have gsnap . it isnt working right. i wanna sing without autotune

  • @lilkjdabest8919 it is autotune. mess with the knobs or look up a tutorial. it works.

  • @hoosier9009 I looked all of em up and they sound to static

  • @lilkjdabest8919 Well then just mess with it. the best way to learn is doing yourself. Or, search google.

  • @hoosier9009 G-snap is not autotune, autotune is autotune, both gsnap and autotune are pitch correction tools.

  • well i'ma waitin' on the sunrise, cause i guess i'm too blind to see...

  • Damn i like this software

What's the best thing you think it can do???

I'm gonna be the DJ for the Valentine's Party at my school next week

I'm really excited but doesn't know what can it do the best

Any suggestions please. Thanks in advance

  • How can you make your voice sound robotic, vst plug in suggestions? tweek with actual effects from factory? thanks for answering

  • what compresser did you use , ?

  • where is the voc steady at i dont have it

  • Is The a gate effect/scatter effect in mixcraft 5?

  • @poopoo427 Mixcraft 6 will have a noise gate plugin included.

  • @acoustica222 mixcraft 6 already have?

  • @acoustica222

    When do we get MC6?

  • @acoustica222 wow!!! when sir??

  • u said "nothing before and nothing after" how about nothing between?? how to mute the noise between the vocals or verse and chorus???

  • @gastontommy - Noise Reduction on the 'Sound' tab when you select your audio clip :-)

  • what if i don't have that Mixer?

and i don't have fx in the boxes, i only have one down in the 'box' called Sound?

do you know why I don't have that? :)

  • What do I do in the Compressor(classic or accoustica) If I don't hav Voc Steady? Because on the Mixcraft compressors there are no dual or low cut.

  • u a genius dude,,,great job

  • what does the solo button do? sorry ahah

  • THANKS BRO YOU HELPED OUT ALOT!!!

  • good job on vocal effects

  • All what I have:

    1-usb interface:Tascam us-100

2-dynamic vocal mic: ATR-1300 audio technica

I don't have the guitar process though Does that work for me ? or I need to get guitar process ?

  • it dont sound good

  • fantastic help subbed for sure

  • When you loop a portion, does the fx apply to the whole track?

  • @sharbohemia Looping is for playback use, it has no effect on effects. If you want effects to only get used on portions of the track, you need to use track automation. There videos here for that too.

  • Well done!

  • nice! Thanks for the Tips. Also may I ask Where you Using EZdrummer for Drums?

  • @ComeToRejectCity No, the drums in this one are loops that come with Mixcraft, although I normally record real drums for my projects.

  • It just looks so easy when you do it but when I go home and try tweaking my own stuff it doesn't make the least bit of difference. I mean, it does, but not up to my expectations, and you didn't even record yours in a booth. I guess it would help to under the difference frquencies of EQ. I cannot get my vocals to stand out over my music and I have a 200 condesor mic

  • @CastleRecordz What is the brand and model of the mic? How is it connected to the computer? Yes being familiar with an eq and which frequencies affect certain instruments and vocals is a definite advantage.

  • @acoustica222 Thanks for the quick response. Well, I have an AKG Perception 200 Condensor mic. I have the mic plugged into a Behringer mixer and then in my mixer main output, I have a cord running into my audiobox interface.

  • @CastleRecordz If I plug my mic right into my mixer, it can only go into one channel and then it records mono, instead of stereo.

  • @CastleRecordz Yes, that's what you want. It will be mono but come out on both sides.

  • @acoustica222 oh i see- thanks. And I meant to say when I plug it directly into the interface it comes out mono. But in my mixer I can adjust some of the levels and stuff, I guess I like that, but it sounds a lot better when I plug it directly into the audiobox interface.

  • @CastleRecordz The mic looks fine, I checked it out online. In my experience, behringer equipment is pretty noisy, not sure if that's a factor for you. I am not sure what an audiobox interface is, you might troubleshoot by skipping it and plugging into your computers line in or mic jack.

  • @acoustica222 Thanks for doing thr research on my mic. Yes, I believe the Behringer is pretty noisy. I think I'll try plugging it into my interface. And audiobox interface is made by Presonus or something like that. It seems pretty good. I used to have an M-Audio, but out of no where it became defective, so who knows. Thanks a lot.

  • I Have The Pro Tools Vocal Studio Mic ? How Good Is It & What Are Some Pros And Cons To It

  • @dbtharapper I have no clue about that mic, never had a need for one.

  • @YoungHeroeKidzPurp You are welcome, glad you find the videos useful.

  • Can you tell me why you chose mixcraft over other software! what was it's selling point for you? Thanks.

  • @LastManStanding65 This is Acoustica's official Youtube account. We make these videos to help people get comfortable and familiar with the software. :) Anyhow, there is a good comparison chart on our main Mixcraft page....but the main advantage is price and power. We are actively working on version 6, right now, as well. Thanks.

  • @LastManStanding65 Sure, you get much more with Mixcraft than with other daw software but for less money. Also, it was extremely easy to use from the first day

  • best tutorial yet! straight to the point with the important details

  • hye , i just want to ask that what if theres no vocsteady? i dont have it in my mixcraft 5. and where can i get the other vst like what i see in your video here where there are plenty more than the one i have here in mixcraft.

  • @Ashiro21 @Ashiro21 VocSteady is a third party VST plugin, you have to buy it if you want to use it. It just happens to be what I used here, you don't have to have it. You can use the compressors that come with Mixcraft.

  • A Big Thank You! You should work for Mixcraft!

  • @thisandthatnow Now there's an idea!

  • is there any way that i could send a track to you on mixcraft and you could master it for me?

  • @KCkyle712 Check out the Acoustica d o t c o m forums, I am sure someone there would be happy to mix your project.

  • is there any way that i could send a track to you on mixcraft and you could master it for me?

  • excellent vid & instruction! thanks!!

  • @GtrDudeL Thank you, you're welcome.

  • @dennabalavac I don't know, I don't own one. Looking it up online shows that it has tons of digital effects, so my guess is that it does have compression. I would set up a preset channel on it which is completely clean accept for compression.

  • I was just wondering, I haven't got a interface. I just use a Samsom USB mic and Mixcrafts Virtual instruments now. Is there a way to put compression on the vocal without an Interface? Would the one under the fx list give the same?

  • @Topdoginuk Yes you can, and are encouraged to use the compression effects that come with mixcraft. THey will certainly help smooth things out. The reason I use hardware compression first is so that the signal coming into Mixcraft is already smooth, so the addition of the acoustica or classic compressor smooths it even more.

  • @acoustica222 Thank you. I'm thinking that it'd probably be better to initiate the compression via the fx before I start a vocal input. I'll experiment.

    Thank you again.

  • Brilliant videos! The looping function is great and I can see the fx are applied to the whole track. It's good to see a few explanations & demos of changing some of the fx edits and saying what they are for. I keep getting the occasional click/pop when using my Samson Mic but, I think I may have seen how to eliminate it here. I'll try. I must have missed these videos when Acoustica uploaded because I follow a lot more people on Youtube and the notifications change quicker! Thank U 4 uploading.

  • @Topdoginuk Thanks for the nice comment! If you have any questions, feel free to post here or at our forum over at acoustica d o t c o m

  • God bless u!

Thanks for sharing this great solution

  • well more ppl shud watch it !!

  • good one!

  • @TheHariharaniyer Thanks, I appreciate your comment and watching the videos!
