  • Fun! Thank you SOOOO much for posting.

  • They asked them do to the special effect and to make it black and white, which is why the colouring is weird.

  • Oh my gosh this is cool - Whooo Hoooo!

  • It's not what's on the head--but what's in it--that counts.

  • I FUCKING LOVE MY LIFE...because of talking heads

  • Top of the game, great energy.

  • ROCK ON DAVID BYRNE!!! LOVED YOU BACK IN THE DAY!! respect to all my bros no longer here no looking down frown heaven rembering how we used to rock the house when this came on !! laughing i hope !! i will never forget you !! BARTON HILL !! BRISTOLS IN THE HOUSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this! I remember watching this with my brother years ago and how blown away we were with this band. This brings back some great memories.

  • I AM... ORDINARY GUY!

  • Talking Heads+the 80's=AWESOMENESS.

  • It starts with a great ironical line: "Watch out you might get what you're after"...

    This is the real thing!

And cool baby 'David-talking-head-Letterman' is always word fighting like fire with fire: burning down the house.

  • I sure do love those ta lki n ghe ads.

  • holy shit Dave has hair.

  • gotta love the 80's....

  • think the zutons have been studying

  • Best musical moment of the 1980s. Best band. Best Letterman appearance. Love the black and white and tint...I hadn't seen this since the day it aired.

  • @MrJbrew66 One of the best anyway. This collaboration was the best moment of the 1980's. Watch: /watch?v=LLub8uIo1nE&feature=related

  • That's Lynn Mabry on the left, but who's the other backup vocalist?

  • @rollo131 I believe that's Dolette Mcdonald. She toured with the Heads in 1980.

  • @rollo131 Dolette McDonald

  • David Byrne can really move! His dancing is like a chicken

  • I really like this performance of the song. It's a bit funkier than the record.

  • I'm only twelve years old, and I'm madly in love with this song. My mom told me about it a few hours ago, and I've been listening to it over and over again since then. I wish there were more bands like this nowadays! These guys rock! :)

  • @thatgirl765 You have excellent taste, sweetie. Good to know, there's hope for our future!

  • Makes my mind tingle in a good way

  • AMAZING! This must have been the first and only time Letterman put a video effect on the broadcast isn't it? I never saw an effect used before or after this on performances on his show. I'm sure David Byrne got him him to do it because he is special like that.

  • @funny0000000 i remember when this aired; thought something was wrong with the tv fine tuning - visually striking at the time

  • That beginning was a thing of beauty.

  • My only complaint: no good close ups of Tina :-(

    Otherwise - awesome.

  • What a great live version!!! A great beat. Thanks for this!!!

  • It was done in Black and White. I haven't seen this since it aired. THANKS FOR THIS!!!

  • Well done finding this vid. Does anyone have the second interview he did with letterman for stop making sense. Would be much appreciated let me know.
