Thanks for posting this! I remember watching this with my brother years ago and how blown away we were with this band. This brings back some great memories.
Best musical moment of the 1980s. Best band. Best Letterman appearance. Love the black and white and tint...I hadn't seen this since the day it aired.
I'm only twelve years old, and I'm madly in love with this song. My mom told me about it a few hours ago, and I've been listening to it over and over again since then. I wish there were more bands like this nowadays! These guys rock! :)
AMAZING! This must have been the first and only time Letterman put a video effect on the broadcast isn't it? I never saw an effect used before or after this on performances on his show. I'm sure David Byrne got him him to do it because he is special like that.
Fun! Thank you SOOOO much for posting.

They asked them do to the special effect and to make it black and white, which is why the colouring is weird.

It's not what's on the head--but what's in it--that counts.

Talking Heads+the 80's=AWESOMENESS.

It starts with a great ironical line: "Watch out you might get what you're after"...
This is the real thing!
And cool baby 'David-talking-head-Letterman' is always word fighting like fire with fire: burning down the house.

@MrJbrew66 One of the best anyway. This collaboration was the best moment of the 1980's. Watch: /watch?v=LLub8uIo1nE&feature=related

That's Lynn Mabry on the left, but who's the other backup vocalist?
rollo131 1 year ago
@rollo131 I believe that's Dolette Mcdonald. She toured with the Heads in 1980.

I really like this performance of the song. It's a bit funkier than the record.

@funny0000000 i remember when this aired; thought something was wrong with the tv fine tuning - visually striking at the time
