One thing that concerns me - you said that to get the NanoSeries devices to work, you got rid of all your other devices in your Audio/MIDI setup - does that mean that if you wanted to use these devices on the go, but use a larger device at home, you couldn't do that? (Or you'd have to redo your Audio/MIDI setup every time?)
This finally made it so i don't have to go searching for more info someone else didn't give me. man after my own heart, i probably wont get the keyboard 'cause i already have MIDI controllers that respond much better to touch. you're the only one who actually named a price, which is great cause i can't get money until i get some gigs, but i can't get gigs 'till i get some equipment, so money's an object.
Would this be suitable for a live controller for programmes such as reason or ableton? I would like to incorporate my laptop as part of a live setup and I'm looking for a controller that would let me cue and tweak in realtime.
why do you need motorized faders? do you know how bloody expensive mixers or controllers with motorized faders are? It is enough for producing and mixing. If you want motorized faders you have to pay 20 times the price
@sonicstate well they arent faders, they're just sliders, arent they?
And for those of you wanting to type 'HERP THERES NO DIFFERENCE'
Yes, there are BIG differences. Sliders actually slide...faders literally FADE the volume/whatever value you've mapped...same with a hardware mixer. You have a crossfader, which FADES, and volume SLIDERS, that just slide. Difference is with faders, you get a smoother reaction, sliders just kinda...slide.
I just discovered this series from Korg about an hour ago-been looking into options to make my rig more portable. After watching your reviews, I am sold. Thank you!!!
Hi everyone, i'm trying to use nanokontrol with traktor pro everything it work fine but when i go to the editor apears "nano kontrol failed to open midi port" can anyone help me ? because I want to edit the buttons and make them toggled (lights on and off the same with on and off fuction in traktor pro) thanks
It depends on your OS, but you may need to make sure you have the Korg midi drivers installed. If your editor is not seeing it, then the DAW or seuencer probably isnt?
@sonicstate Is it possible to use the nanoKONTROL as an external mixer with for example Traktor? You know, for DJing you need a cross-fader and pitchers. Is it possible to modify it in that way? I am not very technically skilled, just looking for an alternative to the old CD-mixers.
serious question: I just got the microkorg (new to synths), and I want to do loops.. can i use this nanokontrol to loop tracks i make using the microkorg??
To do loops with any synth, you either need to record your passage in some audio program and loop it there, or get some kind of loop pedal or other hardware looping effect. There's probably software out there that can replicate the same functions as a hardware unit too. The nanokontrol is just a usb controller for MIDI functions, it can't do any audio manipulation for you on its own.
You will need a DAW or Digital Audio Workstation for your PC, such as FL Studio (good for loops). The nanoKontrol does not actually do anything with sound itself, it just controls programs on the computer.
Alternatively you could get a Loop Station from Boss which is a pedal controlled loop machine, that works on it's own and doesn't need a PC.
this guy looks like Jason from the gadget show! great review :D

You should've set one of the pots for the cutoff, that way, if you find a point in between, you can set it there without it automatically going back.
