The organizers of the prom didn't want her on the premise wearing that ugly dress, she didn't want to leave, and so she got arrested for trespassing. It's a private event that is not located in SOBE, so expect the dress code to be a little more stringent.

Schools have the right to decide what is appropriate. They can't let people walk around like they just got out of a strip joint. Two girls did the same thing at my prom years ago and weren't allowed in. so they left. The cops came because she was told to leave and didn't. End of story.

She was arrested for fighting with the sponsors. She was disruptive probably ruining other people's prom experience. The school has a right to refuse someone entrance to the prom for dress code, especially when it is such a blatant disregard for the dress code. I do agree that she should have gotten a refund but she could have just gone home, changed and gone back. It upsets me that you guys automatically sided with the girl.

I also don't think she should have gotten kicked out of the prom, but that dress is obviously not appropriate for a high school prom, but if she wants to wear it, there's no law that says she can't.

The school officials were probably concerned someone will pull her outfit off. When you go to a school event, you should expect to abide by their dress code. Also allowances should have been made so she could rectify the situation or, get her money back.
